“I tolerate it,” he corrected, and she smacked his arm.
Only then did Natasha remember her guest. “Oh! Right. There’s someone you should meet.”
Xavier turned slightly as Diana stood, straightening her posture. Her soft curls framed her face, and her polite smile didn’t quite hide the curiosity in her eyes.
“Diana,” Natasha said proudly, “this is my big brother the great, mysterious Xavier I’ve been telling you about.”
