Ross was sitting behind his desk, a glass of something dark and strong in his hand, his expression somewhere between relief and regret.
“It’s handled,” Spencer said.
Ross looked up slowly, eyes red and distant. “Good. I don’t want to hear about it again.”
Spencer tilted his head. “You sure you’re built for this kind of silence, Ross?”
Ross let out a bitter laugh, drained his glass, and muttered, “Silence is cheaper than guilt.”
"So, Randall is..."
"Dead and gone. Till the end the old fool thought he was the one pulling the strings." Ross smirked. He pulled out an envelope from his desk drawer. "Make this look like a freak accident. The rest is for the home invasion."
