She leaned in, her tone silky. “I hear you take in abused she-wolves now. Very admirable.”
She meant me.
Zane’s knife paused over his plate. He answered with a neutral smile. “We always open our doors to those in need. When the case is beyond us, we turn to Adrian. He’s the expert.”
