Nero, Nico, and Enzo still weren’t back. It was morning, and I knew they were taking care of the shipments they had stolen. Nero had texted me to tell me everything went well, which told me that a bunch of people died, just not him. It was the perfect opportunity for me to bond with my brother. He hadn’t talked to me since our last conversation. He talked to everyone else but me. He even bonded with Nico for fucks sake. Nico was a psychopath. How could he bond with him, not with me? Nero was teaching him combat skills, Enzo how to use weapons such as knives, and Nico how to shoot. He spent time with all of them and talked to me only when he was forced to.

While we’re living our best life, she’s out there saving tiny helpless fur babies.” Riley rolled her eyes but smiled. “Someone has to balance things out.” Suddenly, both of them looked at me, glancing at my back like there was a ghost or something behind me.
