I looked up after sending the message. The comments in the air were blurring, like static on a television with a bad signal. "What's happening? I can't see…" "The story fell apart, so we're being forcefully removed!" "No! I haven't finished reading yet—" The last comment disappeared before it finished scrolling across my vision. All the lights in the room were switched on. I had no choice but to squint against the blinding glare. The music on the huge screen stopped and returned to the karaoke's usual interface.

Florence put her hand down and said, "Can't you see? She doesn't love you anymore." "Get lost. This has nothing to do with you." Florence seemed hurt by this. She finally dropped the act. "Cyrus, can you honestly say you never felt anything? At the Ice Islands, when you held me, wasn’t there even a moment of hesitation? You think driving me away would get her back? Make everything go back to how it was?" She pointed at me and continued, "She sees things more clearly than you do. From the moment you allowed me to shave her head, or maybe even earlier, you had already lost her. She doesn't want you anymore. Cyrus, only I'll be with you. I love you."

“I wanted to see you. You wouldn't reply to any of my messages or answer the phone.” “I didn't answer because I'm done playing your sick little games! I could never be better, no matter how much I try. "I need to go," He said from beside me. "Bookworm." Twisting my head, I peered at him. "Take care, and stop those thoughts we need to break up." He stood up and bent in front of me. "You told me to not back down, don't you dare back down. It'll pass away, okay? Just give it time." Leaning up, he kissed my forehead. I shut my eyes tightly. "Divert your mind. It helps."

Dressed in a long gown without makeup, she sipped only plain water. Jennifer forced a bitter smile as she looked at me. "Nicole, you must be really happy to see me like this, aren't you?" I replied without hesitation, "To be honest, seeing you struggle does bring me some satisfaction. But it has nothing to do with me. I don't waste my time on irrelevant people."
