THE CRAZY NEWBIE CHAPTER 1 ★★★★★ NEW YORK≈9AM RESIDENCE OF THE BLANCOS‘ Adelia came out of the kitchen with a bowl of fries sitting on her hands, she's munching on it as she walked to the dinning room. Dropping it on the table, she noticed a backpack on the couch in the living room. "Wait...she has class by 10, she's still at home?" She asked herself, walking to the living room.

Trust me if looks could kill, I'd have been six feet under by now. My mind wandered off to Xavier, if he notice I was gone, would he find me? Would he forget about me? We drove for hours and hours. Just then the vehicle stopped. The door opened and a guy motioned for us to come out. Was this another country? Of course not. It wasn't. But, it was a hidden place. No one could ever suspect we live here. We slowly climbed down the car. I noticed our bags in three of the guy's hands.

He wipes his face with a spare hanky. Why can’t he find it? He pulled out his phone from his pocket. He searches about it then. There had to be something. But what’s he gonna search. Mystery girl? Demon? There must be an ancient name for her. Or there isn’t. He was exhausted already. He ruffled his head, if he didn’t get anything, Dixon would end up killing him. He strolled down his phone. Ancient mystery girl. History search. He hunkered down. Since he was tired of standing.

She knew the scent before she even opened the box—it was her mother’s recipe. Her eyes narrowed. There was no way he could’ve known that. Not unless… She stepped into the hallway and glanced down the corridor, heart starting to pound just slightly. Her eyes scanned the flood of bodies—interns in scrubs, gurneys rolling past, a code blue being paged overhead. And then, through the shifting crowd, she saw a mysterious man. He stood halfway down the corridor, half-hidden behind a group of surgical residents chatting near the elevators. His face was obscured by a black KN95, and a baseball cap sat low on his brow, but even through the layers, something about his presence felt… familiar.

“Don’t be shocked, okay? I also reviewed the footage and found out that there was no driver. Jerome traced the plate number but it was odd that it wasn’t even registered.” The hair on the back of my neck stood up after what I heard from him and that made me flinched at the moment. That was the same dark and mysterious night where all I could see was complete darkness in the balcony. I felt a flash of terror on my chest but I didn’t make it transparent to him. Would that be Juno’s doing? She might have wanted to kill me out of jealousy. “Can you promise me one thing, Aris?” I stopped from walking that made him do the same thing.

" Well, won't you call him back? he sounded really worried over the phone" Now something was surely wrong with her brother, he must be high on something or must have hit his head somewhere, and lost his memory. Did he forget who Goodluck was and was transpired between them, this was indeed a new version of Maxwell. Something was surely wrong. Joy's voice brought them back from their thought. Billie said with a shaky voice "I know.." Adrian said calmly as he kept robbing her back this time After a moment of silence..when she was peaceful, he asked still holding her in his embrase "Is this the first time you're experiencing such a strange thing?" I muttered as I walked over to the closet. I reached for my bag and started off-loading its contents till I got to the bottom and found something. It was a manila envelope. “This…wasn’t here before,” I narrowed my gaze as I examined its beige surface. “Did someone put this in here?” I ripped it open and brought out its contents. Inside were old newspapers about a man and woman I’d never seen before. I flipped several pages and it all circled around the same thing—a ghastly accident that was some kind of huge mystery at the time.

Flashing red and blue lights painted everything in harsh color. “Residents of Lawson City woke up to horror today,” she said, voice tight. “The mysterious assassin known only as ‘Ghost’ has struck again.” I leaned back, arms crossing over my chest. They always said the name like I was something unreal. A myth. A shadow with no skin. I’m just a man. “Authorities currently have no leads,” she continued. “No suspect description.” Of course they don’t. My phone rang. Unknown number. I answered but said nothing.
