I feel pain from the tip of my toes to the tip of my ears.
Luca retracts the rod, throwing it back into the burning coal. “I am truly sorry, Nobi. I do not want to do this.” When he sees the look of anger and hatred on my face, he pouts. “I am not the bad guy here, whether you believe it or not. All this is happening because of Sin.”
I pant heavily, trying to catch my breath as the pain has reduced. “You monster.”
His face slackens, then he laughs. “Monster? No, Sin is the monster.”
