I muttered without turning around, but the footsteps stopped and I heard a heavy sigh that I recognized from a dozen missions in the hills of Sicily. "I didn't spend three hours dodging Architects' patrols just to find you crawling around a kitchen like a wounded animal, so why don't you let me help you up before you bleed all over these nice floorboards?" Nico said as he holstered his weapon and walked over to pull me into a chair. Nico was one of the few guards from my personal detail who had actually stayed loyal when the Council turned on me, and he looked like he had been through a war zone because his uniform was scorched and he had a deep cut over his left eye that was still oozing.

It was as if it would stop the next second. “Damnit!” Niccoli looked nervously at Steve who lost consciousness, and his right hand tightly gripped on Allan’s sword as he turned toward those rabid-like students. “Niccoli, don’t be rash. You cannot take action now. Have you forgotten what you promised our father?” When he noticed that something was amiss with Niccoli, Nike immediately grabbed onto his arms and pulled Niccoli toward him. Then he turned toward their opponents and shot three ice blades from his hand to counter the incoming arrows.

Pain flared hot in my side but adrenaline drowned most of it. Two men in dark clothes were trying to climb through the side entrance. Nico fired once. One dropped with a cry. The second turned and sprayed bullets wildly. I pressed myself against the wall, breath caught in my throat. Nico moved like liquid shadow. He took the second guy down with a brutal tackle, knife flashing once. Clean. Final. The man stopped moving. Silence fell, thick and heavy. I stepped out, knife still in my hand. My legs felt unsteady. “They were Greco’s?”

“I should kill him for the way he looks at you.” “You won’t,” I whispered back. “Because right now he’s the best weapon we have, and he only answers to me.” Dante’s jaw worked, but he didn’t argue. He knew the truth: Nico’s twisted devotion was a blade that cut both ways, and I was the only hand steady enough to wield it. Nico turned to leave, already on the phone in rapid Italian, flawless Russian; Voronin on the other end. Before he reached the door he paused, glanced back at me one last time.

I know he must have seen someone reach for their gun. I can hear the slight nervousness in his tone. Nico is a tough guy. He is a good shot, not as good as me, but close. Fighting is his specialty but this many men will make it tough. I try to put him at ease and take a deep breath before I lose it and break Orlando’s hand. “I need to know where you think she will be.”

"What the fuck. Nico? Two of them?" Nero thought it was not another Russian mob attack. He would really wipe them all out now without blinking an eye. Nico nodded, but his expression remained unreadable. "I took the first one into town. I've had a suspicion since that night." He reached into his pocket again, placing a small card on the table. A goldsmith’s business card. Nero’s jaw tightened. “What is this?" Nico spoke evenly, his voice carrying the weight of something much bigger than a simple discovery.

It would take him less then a second to come out of this if he pulled his claws out. However his strict orders were never to reveal himself to her. Seeing the last set of joggers pass by, Kavyaa then pulled out her only secret weapon she kept on her. Nico was stunned, when she cut him loose, with a rather sharp looking pocket knife, and freeing of him of the vine around his ankle. "Mia, you shouldn't be carrying a pocket knife around like that." Nico said looking back at the sharp looking blade. He went to grab it off her but this time Kavyaa refused to hand it over to him.

It wasn’t easy fighting, he’d give to it he's a good fighter. He looked back at them to see Elliot, hit Luciano’s hand making his sword fall and kicked him to the ground. “You are no match for me Luciano, you should know that.” Nikolai’s eyes widened as he raised his sword high, obviously to drive it into Luciano’s chest. “See you on the other side of the world, lad.” He smirked, ready to stab him, but then an arrow flew from the door right into his chest, giving Luciano a chance to escape.

My chest tingled and Vines shot from the ground this time they wrapped Nico in a protective case so the wolves and beasts couldn't get to him, then they acted like spears and shot through any of the beast or wolves that came anywhere near Nico. Me and Arizer try and make our way to Nico, the vines seem to be clearing a path to him for us. We get there and I call out "Nico?" no reply Shit "Nico are you ok?" Then all of a sudden there is a low roar and a tearing sound and the vines surrounding Nico break apart and Nico jumps into the fight with a vengence. We take down the rest of the beast and wolves until it was just the good guys left.

He has his arm wrapped around Sam’s neck and a silver knife held to his throat. A growl leaves Nico’s chest as he rips the knife across Sam’s throat. Sam’s blood sprays from his neck, coating the ground in front of him. His eyes are plastered open wide as Nico lets go of his body. Sam falls to his knees before landing face-first in a puddle of his own blood. “My son has returned,” Nico laughs as roves of warriors come out of the shadows. Nico spreads his arms open wide and walks toward me. “And you have brought me an army.”
