We huddled as close as possible until the sun rose again, and then we kept kept on huddling until I ordered us to march again. The only way we would survive is if we found a way off this mountain very, very soon. Luckily, Rufias thought he knew of a way. We all followed him.

I awoke from an already awful sleep to the sound of crying – not just from one source, but from a couple. Julius was smooshed tightly between Surry and myself, and though he tried keeping his sobs low, they were still quite audible.
