I roll onto my side again, toss the pillow beneath my head, and stare at the ceiling, unable to corral my thoughts. Every time I close my eyes, the same nightmares return—whispers in the woods, shadows chasing me, a voice pulling at something deep inside me.

ANDY’S POV I block my eyes from the sun with my hand as I get up from the bed. I decided to sleep with the light on and I forgot to shut the window last night before I went to sleep, so the blinding sun greets me with a subtle threat of blindness. “No. The building still stands, but it is a place of death now. I burned the lower rooms, but the stench of chemicals… it will never leave. I left it behind, but in truth, it should be torn down, stone by stone.” Evelyn’s face hardened again. “Good. A place that holds such evil should not remain.” Nightshade’s tone grew colder. “Evelyn, we must be ready. If they were willing to experiment on children, they will not stop there.
