The Dragon's Stone
I begin to pull away from Taran, but his grip tightens, and his chest vibrates with a growl.
I freeze, and my heart races. Shaking my head, I try to get the dream out of my head. I move slower to get out of Taran’s arms without waking him but fail. His eyes quickly open, and he looks at me strangely. Could he know what I dreamed?
“Good morning,” I say with a smile. Maybe I can play this off as nothing happened.
“Morning,” he responds in a groggy voice. Taran moves his arms, and I quickly move off him. After rubbing his face, he asks, “Why do you wake so early? Dragons are nocturnal. We sleep around sunrise and wake in the early evening.”
