That night, Luna did not sleep well. She flipped around in bed, constantly dreaming. At one moment, she dreamt that Joshua was kneeling in front of her, explaining to her saying that he had always liked her. Another moment was Neil angrily holding Luna’s hand asking why did she not bring Nigel and Nellie to look for him. Luna was being tormented by these dreams. She got down from the bed a few times. In the end, she consumed a huge dose of melatonin before falling asleep around three or four in the morning.

And I had to hold to that choice even though it felt like it was actively destroying me. I was on my way to my locker to drop off a book when Leina appeared. The woman placed the crown against her chest. "I am the memory."

Luna: Joel turned up the radio already blasting dance music and was jamming out by the time they pulled into the parking lot of the club. The blue neon lights of the sign beamed down into the parking lot give everything a blue hazy glow. Nora looked up at the sign. The word Luna was hanging off a crescent shaped moon. Typical night club with some moon name. Nora thought, rolling her eyes. Joel was a perfect gentleman and beat her to open her own door. She smiled softly as the door opened andJoel offered her his hand to get out.

I have learned to embrace that I am not going to be alone in this. For today, we are having burgers and fries and lots of steaks. As for me and Zayn? Oh we are not going anywhere. Because he is mine and I am his. Oh, and also, Did I tell you that I am the new Luna? There you go, Scoot.

“You better tell me everything by tomorrow morning, or I would be the one to rip your head off” “You don’t have to worry about that” She responds. “What time is the gala?” I ask. “It starts at 10pm but we have to be there by 8:30pm, Madam Stephanie wants perfection” She explains “Okay…. And the dress code?” “I got that covered, the dress is in my wardrobe on the left. It’s a black leather dress and the shoes are on the rack. Oh and don’t worry about your night shift, I already convinced Natalie” She states.

Bruce snapped, voice slicing the air. "You're the shameless one—stealing my Luna!" He actually pulled out a crumpled photo from our mating ceremony, holding it up like proof in court. "Look! She's mine. My mate!" The crowd buzzed. Whispers flew like wildfire. They'd heard stories about Bruce, but now all eyes were on me—confused, searching. I stared at the photo. Nothing. No flicker of recognition. Wolvent's smile turned lethal. "Your Luna? Did you even mark her?"

"Come. Sit." I sat. She looked at me the way she always did, like she could see straight through whatever face I had decided to wear tonight. "How was the ceremony?" she asked. "Wonderful," I said. "Very glamorous. Very expensive. Very not us. Elder Mara wore her good robes. The ones without the gravy stain. So you know it was a special occasion." My mother's mouth curved. "And?"
