A Night at Wildwood

A Night at Wildwood

It was late autumn when they arrived — the trees skeletal, the air thick with a kind of oppressive stillness that seemed to hum beneath the surface of the world. Emily Carter, a graduate student in folklore and urban legends, had heard the whispers about WildWood all her life. She had grown up just a few towns over and had spent years gathering the old stories: tales of the “vanishing patients,” the “howling trees,” and the “night doctors” said to stalk the forest paths. Determined to separate fact from myth, Emily organized an expedition for her thesis, enlisting a few brave companions:

Nanny For The Alpha's Lost Twins

To tell the truth, as much as I loved cuddling the girls, having the bed to myself sounded nice. So back we both went to Grace’s room, who smiled and asked if I would read them a story. She produced the same book her father had read from a couple of nights ago and pointed to where she wanted me to begin. “The books went through all the world, and a few of them once came to the Emperor. He sat in his golden chair, and read, and read: every moment he nodded his head, for it pleased him to peruse the masterly description of the city, the palace, and the garden. ‘But the Nightingale is the best of all,’ it stood written there.

Strange short stories

Strange short stories

Until now, strange short stories had only very short stories. But from volume two I intend to add stories that have 10 to 20 captains as well. These stories are not so long nor have so much visibility as a separated book. For this reason, I decided to move all then into strange short stories, that is already a storybook of different themes.

Night-Blooming

‘Soft the drowsy hours are creeping, Hill and dale in slumber sleeping, I my loved ones' watch am keeping, All through the night.’ Listening to the soft, loving voice, Nox finally stopped fighting his tiredness. “Goodnight, my love.”

Creatures of THE Night

Creatures of THE Night

"Did you know that dullahans have literal nightmares as steeds? As in the levitating spectral demon horses usually only commanded by the King of Dreams?" I stood up, making a shot for the garbage can with my cup. It bounced off the rim and scared a stray tabby cat. Well if that wasn't a metaphor for this conversation, I don't know what was. "Because I sure as hell didn't when I'd asked him to take me home!" Fun fact: Nightmares are actually very sweet once you get past the teeth. Not so fun fact: They like sudden drops when flying. "Promise. Details," Noelle threatened with a current of magenta magic sparking at her fingers. "Now!"

Mistaken Bride Of The Mafia CEO

Mistaken Bride Of The Mafia CEO

Laid by her while we watched our children breathe. The nurses were incredible. Patient and kind as they taught us how to take care of babies we couldn’t even hold yet. They taught us how we can change these little, tiny diapers through the portholes of the incubator. How to take their temperature. How to spot signs of distress. "Talk to them.” said Jennifer, one of the nurses. "They can hear your voices. It makes them aware they’re not alone.” So we talked. Raven regaled them with anecdotes about her father and the bakery. And about her grandmother and the recipe book. Of all the things we’d do when they came back.

Married a Secret Billionaire

Married a Secret Billionaire

He still looked like an elite, but just too disheveled and ridiculous. Lena gently coaxed Nala and caressed her head, trying to recall the story of Little Red Riding Hood from her childhood memories. She stumbled through the tale, making some mistakes, but Nala snuggled close and listened carefully. The nurse skillfully administered Nala's butterfly needle and started her on the drip. The once-chaotic hospital ward had now returned to a calm and peaceful state. A while later, Nala fell asleep in Lena's embrace. After making sure Nala was truly asleep, Lena put her down carefully and tucked her in before leaving the room with Elijah.

I've only read two books on this app. This is the second and by far the best one. The storylines are fluid, the characters are endowed with personality and most importantly the writer makes them come together seamlessly. Ideally, this is what the experience should be, uncomplicated and enjoyable.

I like the story. However, the cost is high for books on here and they are never ending. Not that the chapters are long, but it is almost the same outlying as the other books from this author. Sometimes it takes a moment to see what characters they have actively engaged in that chapter.

The Lycan King’s Broken Mate

The Lycan King’s Broken Mate

⸻ Toward evening, I set the house: half the lamps out, every second candle lit, doors closed, grates silent. The nurse begins the bedtime rhythm — no story, no melody, just a low, steady murmur. The children have tuned to it these past weeks. In the suite, Nyra flips through her journal. She doesn’t intend to fill it — just pins two words beside the date. I step closer. “What did you write?” I ask. “Measurement holds.” She looks up. “That’s enough for today.” I sit beside her. No embrace — the whole day’s been cadence; let it stay so.

Killed and Reborn: My Alpha’s Obsession

Killed and Reborn: My Alpha’s Obsession

“They’re just the ones standing closest to the smoke.” “I know that too,” she said. “It doesn’t make it less infuriating when they act like my mother’s death was some glorious exchange rate.” A muscle in his jaw ticked. “Nightfang has our own version,” he said. “Stories about how we were strong when fear ruled, about how sacrifice kept the borders hard. They forget the bodies in the snow.” Rin looked at him. “Do they tell stories about you?” she asked. “The same way they do about me?”
