TATE THE MORNING LIGHT sliced through the blinds, landing right across my face like it was trying to drag me out of a sleep. My skull pounded with every heartbeat, the kind of headache that made you want to bury your head under a pillow and stay there. I shoved my glasses on before I even sat up, rubbing the grit from my eyes. It was the same routine as always—drag myself up, take a piss, brush my teeth, take a bath, wait for whatever meal they decided to throw at me.

But seeing how Nina plunges into the seat in front of me unbothered due to her black fitted off-shoulder mini dress, has me feeling a bit jealous. She crosses her legs, showing off her black high heels with a slingback decorated with little diamonds. Passing me the cigarette package, she lights her cigarette and passes me the lighter too. Nina is wearing a black mask with silver embellishments, matching her blingy shoes. Her copper-blond hair is tied up into a loose bun while I chose to wear my hair open and straightened.

“Stay by my side.” “I know what you’re trying to do, Lycan King, and it won’t work… seducing me so I’ll obey your orders.” She sucked on my lower lip, and I growled at her provocation, watching her smile even as our mouths remained pressed together. “This is the first meeting. Maybe it’s better to keep the fact that your Luna is blind a secret for now. Let them see your power first, and then I’ll take part in the next meetings.”

“My plan is perfect!” “Then why are you so interested in Nyter?” asked Nina as she cut a vine to let her mother pass. It was already dusk and she had to reach her pack as soon as possible. The healers were trying to get Blake out of consciousness and she had to put his back to sleep. She couldn’t let him heal properly so Lyle was blamed on a permanent basis.

“Why not? It wouldn’t be a surprise if your eyes were wide open.” “What in the world are you up to, Tania? I am too pregnant for all of these kinds of jokes.” “Do you trust me?” “Do I have any other choice but to trust you?” “No, you don’t.” She giggled. “So, let's do this,” Tania announced, covering Nina’s face with a blindfold. “This had better be worth it,” Nina warned. “You bet.” She uttered. The drive didn’t take too long before Tania stopped the car again.

“Try and stop me from seeing you. I’m having you moved officially into my room. I want you close as often as possible.” He kisses me and I hold him close as I kiss him back. It takes Rowena clearing her throat for us to split apart. He gives me one more grin before he turns and leaves us to our training. Rowena and I turn to find a place where we can sit. “Alright, right now we are just going to do some meditation. We need you to be able to clear your mind and focus on what’s inside of you and around you without your sight. Eventually, you need to be able to call on those things with your eyes open too. I brought a blindfold just in case.”

She grabbed the Hijab she took off a while ago. "Please don't ask me again. I might freak out again," Nina started to blindfold Boaz using the silk cloth. "But you can take it off a little later if you still want to have a look at me." She apologetically explained. What she said was a clear go signal for Boaz, and he smiled as he nodded after Nina securely blindfolded him. "I won't look, but can I touch you?" He asked cautiously. Nina took both hands in her and guided them to her back, and whispered to his ears.

Nina ignored the pain vibrating in her body and grabs the wine bottle. She walks over to him "I hope this hurts" she wipes him so hard on the head with the bottle. Now she could escape! She looks around her.There was not a door or a window in this room. She begins to get scared again. "Okay..okay" she breathes in and out "He's playing with my mind.I need to focus" Nina said as she closes her eyes and pictures the underworld.Mysteriously she appears back in the woods that leads to the underworld.

She blinks her eyes trying to get rid of the tiredness. "Please, come out." Nodding her head she immediately gets out of the car and looks at him confused. "What are we doing here?" She asks him confused and steps forward. He holds her arms gently so she wouldn't walk away. "Let's walk along the shore." He says and pulls her gently towards the beach.

I ask, my voice quieter now. “She’s alive. But she chose exile over royalty. She lives outside the palace walls. No crown, no drama. Almost like she ran away from the throne before it swallowed her.” I swallow. “Does Adrian know about Blake?” Nina hesitates. Her lips part. Her eyes flicker. “Uhmm—” The door opens. Blake steps inside. Nina instantly retreats to the kitchen like she was never part of this conversation—like she just overheard state secrets that could get her killed.
