Your Lips to Mine #4: The Billionaire's Heartbeat

Your Lips to Mine #4: The Billionaire's Heartbeat

I needed him to understand that his father’s failures didn’t define him. James stiffened, his posture becoming rigid again, the familiar walls going up around him. But there was something in his eyes—something I hadn’t seen before—that told me he had heard me, that he understood the truth of my words. “No,” he said, his tone flat. “I didn’t.”

Alpha's Pure Blood Mate: The Forsaken

Alpha's Pure Blood Mate: The Forsaken

His words were like venom. "What do you mean good at negotiation?" I said angrily. "Haven't I always done well till now? Are you going to judge all my success with one failure?" "One failure is enough to get you killed child. I do not welcome failures into this pack." He sneered and we held each other's gaze in defiance until I looked away. He wasn't worth it. "So what will you have me do? I cannot go back in time but I'm trying my best to fix things."

The CEO's broken vows

The CEO's broken vows

Sweat clung faintly to his temples despite the cool air conditioning. Failure. The word echoed mercilessly in his mind. “What are you pacing about?” Charles’ voice cut through the room like a blade. Andy froze mid-step and immediately sat down, spine stiff, palms pressing into his knees. “I’m… I’m not bothered, Charles,” he stammered, though the tremor in his voice betrayed him. “Our plans failed. Again. How does he keep slipping through every time? It’s like he’s untouchable… like nothing we do ever reaches him.”

The Person You Choose

The Person You Choose

Found him on the porch, sketchbook closed, the evening settling around them. "Well?" she asked, sitting beside him, close but not touching. "Well what?" "Did you pass? Your own test?" "I don't know." He turned to look at her, the becoming visible, the uncertainty shared. "I didn't destroy anything. That's—" He stopped, found the word. "That's not passing. That's just not failing yet. The test continues. Every day. Every time you come home glowing, in love, becoming without me." "And?" "And I'm still here. The door's still open. I'm still—" He stopped, the honesty becoming promise. "I'm still trying. That's all I can offer. The trying that might fail. The learning that might never complete. T

Fated to be Luna

Fated to be Luna

He growls I took a deep breath before giving him a small devilish smile. Then in an even sweet voice I responded. "No, you failed me once and I don't allow second chances." I glide towards him sidestepping the desk. His face becoming paler the closer I got. "Wait, No I didn't fail" I can hear fear dripping from his every word. Maybe this mongrel was a little more intelligent than I gave him credit for, at least he was smart enough to be scared. Not that it would save him. I don't tolerate failure.

he said. “I’m not.” “You are,” he countered. “You’ve been distracted for months.” “That has nothing to do with this.” “It has everything to do with this.” I felt my control slip slightly. “You don’t even know what this is yet.” “I know it’s a problem.” “It’s a possibility.” “It’s a failure.” The word echoed. Failure. I stared at him. “Don’t,” I said quietly. “Don’t what?” “Don’t reduce this to something I did wrong.”

A Lady For Two

A Lady For Two

Dad was backing me, so i couldn't quite see his expression. This is the worst news that he'd have to hear right now, but either ways, i still have to tell him, evening if it's heartbreaking. "Hmm, i guess we'll keep trying then. *Giving up is the only sure way to fail, failure is not there to be feared but to be learned*." Father said shrugging his shoulders. Okay, dad actually digested this more easier than i thought. Perhaps he has gotten so used to me bringing failure report and it doesn't bother him any longer.

he said quietly, "but there are a lot of pages left. I don't want to fail." Wait-he responded? I was more than surprised. I never expected him to talk to me that much. He was always so calm, so quiet, and clearly a workaholic. The kind of person who probably sees failure as worse than death. "But if you don't eat... something else is going to fail," I said. He looked up at me, a bit confused. Why did he have to look so innocent? So adorable and so... sexy? I screamed inside. "Something else will... fail? What could it be?" he asked, genuinely clueless.

I'm enjoying the book very much however there seems to be a continuity issue. I just finished the chapter A PROPOSAL OR SOMETHING and the next chapter is MAYBE IT CAN BE FIXED. However it seems like there's a whole lot that has been skipped. between these two chapters or something is out of order?

The story is hilarious and loving it so far. The only part that bothers me is how much her eating habits are insinuated. We understand that she is overweight/obese/etc so expressing how much she eats is over the top. There are other ways to describe her weight other than highlighting her food intake

Let Me Be Your Beta, Alpha

Let Me Be Your Beta, Alpha

He paused, his gaze distant as memories flickered through his mind like pages in a book. “But you know what, Sarai?” he said, his voice tinged with determination. “I’ve come to realize that failure is not the end of the road. It’s merely a detour, a chance to reassess and redirect our path. It’s through our failures that we discover our strengths and resilience.” Alpha Damon’s words resonated deeply with me, sparking a newfound sense of courage and determination within my young heart. “So, my dear,” he concluded, his eyes shining with conviction, “never be afraid to fail. Embrace each setback as an opportunity to learn and grow. And remember, the only true failure is the failure to try.”

He Was But A Failed Detour

He Was But A Failed Detour

Her brows lifted slightly, but she said nothing. "He's not doing well," the old man continued, his eyes reddening. "Ever since you left, he hasn't slept properly. He locks himself in the lab all day, using himself as a test subject, experimenting with drugs that aren't even mature yet… A few days ago, he collapsed. Acute liver failure. The doctors said… said unless a miracle happens…" His voice broke, and he couldn't go on. Beth was silent for a moment. The only sound in the air was the airport's emotionless female announcement.
