She tried to recall where she has seen such hair but her line of thought was broken as the door creaked open. A man walked through the door, his frame tall enough that he had to dodge the door as he walked in. His hair was a similar color to Valarie with deep brown eyes. His features were sharp and the thin beard lined his jawline perfectly. Bernard Hiraeth, the Alpha and leader of the Moonglade pack. Noah’s father. “Father!” Noah exclaimed as he jumped to his feet. The sight of his father calmed his ravished nerves. ‘Father is here now,’ Noah thought. ‘He will take care of this.’

Something told him things weren't what they seemed, and things were about to get a lot stranger than they already were. Ethan sat there, waiting for one of them to begin speaking. Hughes sat across from Claudius and Ethan. Leaning forward, and resting his arms on his legs with his hands clasped together. Hughes looked down for a moment and took a deep breath before slowly letting it out. He slowly looked up and Hughes's eyes met Ethan's, "Noah is not trans. He did not go through a sex change. Right when the thought appeared in his head, a stray dog came to him, wagging his fluffy tail. Noah, a great lover of everything furry, was naturally very overjoyed and gave the doggie a very enthusiastic petting. After that, Noah, this small person in this vast world, was no longer alone. He now had a sticky companion that made the journey so much better. They were like Sherlock and Watson! Crusoe and Friday! Frodo and Sam! In short, they were running around very happily together. Everything was great! It was just that this doggie had a really embarrassing habit. He loved to stick his snout where it didn’t belong. “The results, Noah! I’m in! I got into Harvard!” Noah paused, his mug halfway to his lips. He looked at Zion, a small smirk tugging at his mouth. “Damn! Congrats, little brother. I guess one of us actually has brain.” He looked at me with eyes that could drown me. He took in my hoodie, shaking, bandage, and lingered on my lips. His smirk changed – he remembered the kiss. “And what about you, Khione?” Noah asked, leaning against the counter and crossing his arms over his bare chest. “Did you get your big ticket out of here too? Or are you staying behind?”

I had rebuilt the walls and reinforced the protocols and enrolled Noah in a new school under a name that connected to nothing and I had kept moving. Moving was what I knew how to do. "Mom." Noah's voice came from the hallway, thick with sleep, before the rest of him appeared in the kitchen doorway. He was wearing the dinosaur pajamas he had insisted on despite them being technically too small now, the ankles hovering an inch above his feet. His hair was doing something architecturally improbable on the left side. He was clutching the fossil, the ammonite, the one that lived in the hidden pocket of his backpack during school hours and on his bedside table at night.

His fingers jerked. “Oh, look at you! The evolution of man” Kael teased. “From a decorative rug back to a bipedal creature. Honestly, for a moment there, you looked like an ostrich that had grown absurdly long eyelashes and got a bit of sand in its eye. Quite the look. Very avant-garde.” “Shut… up” Noah wheezed, his voice sounding like it had been dragged over broken glass. He rolled onto his side, his muscles protesting with every movement. He so dearly wished he could punch Kael’s poisonous mouth.

“I can play with Lucy, my new puppy.” Lucy is a cocker spaniel. Of course. The door suddenly opens, and Noah is ushered out by the SEN teacher, Mrs. Gregory. “Ah, Mrs. Phipps,” she says as she does every week. “Noah’s making very good progress.” “Great.” I smile pleasantly back. “Noah, sweetheart, put on your coat.” As he heads to the pegs, I turn back to Mrs. Gregory and lower my voice. “Mrs. Gregory, I was just watching your interesting DVD. Noah has quite an imagination, and I think he may be identifying with the kids shown in it a little too much. Could you possibly turn it off when he’s sitting there?”

He was right. "We... just hung out, you know." I mumbled flatly, not getting into it or properly answering his question but that was all he was going to get. "That's specific." Noah chuckled but luckily then changed the subject. "I think I might start buying more hoodies since I seem to be loosing all of them to you." "Hey!" I exclaimed, looking at him with wide eyes, feigning a look of offence. "First of all, you offer. Second of all, I look cuter in them and also, I only have two including the one I am wearing."

There have not been much troubles in the pack. Only few random rogues crossing the borders. But that's all it is. Training with Noah has been great. At first he was holding back. But once seeing how good I was, we were both getting on it. I have defeated him quite a lot of time, even after him using wolf strength. We have even used daggers and weapons to trains. At first Noah hesitated but then agreed. I have even fought him off in his wolf form. His wolf was ashy brown. It was so nice.

As much as I wanted to explore his body, I also wanted to see through the telescope. "Oh goodness. I can see a Robin on the apple tree!" he said excitedly. “Its beak is full of grubs or something… Now it's flown into the shed!" Noah and I took turns watching the Robin coming and going. They brought all sorts of food. Sometimes it was small caterpillars or grubs and once it was a juicy wriggling worm.
