The doctor shook his head, and worry began to creep in. After adjusting my blanket, he left. My chest ached dully, and everything was eerily silent. I must have drifted off to sleep. When I woke again, I could hear faint voices. "Did you hear about the fireworks display last night? They say the Thompson heir set them off for his girlfriend of seven years." "You mean Jake Thompson? That's so romantic!" "Yeah, seven years together. Who knew the rich could have true love too?" "Well, all we can do is wish them a lifetime of happiness..."

It is funny how music touches everyone so differently. The guys are all huddled around the TV watching a game like it's the Super Bowl. Except, it’s a freaking video game. So, of course, Steve is instantly lost to me. I could do a striptease right here in front of God and everybody, and he would not have a clue. I could be murdered no more than five feet away from him and his eyes would not turn away from that 50-inch screen. They are hooting and hollering like they are at the biggest sporting event of the year. Steve hollers that he has dibs to play the next round and becomes lost in the crowd of overgrown "boys".

This time, I’m not quick enough to stop my dragon from purring. “Ugh! How long does this part last? It’s so embarrassing,” I grumble. “Sweetheart, it never goes away. If anything, it only gets stronger like your Aunt Kay said,” Mom says. “I don’t find it embarrassing at all. I like it,” Iniko says, then begins purring loudly, making me blush. He presses a quick kiss to my head again, then turns back to the room. “So, when will we get our new class schedule?”

"Why waste energy on someone else's drama?" Those words—"someone else's drama"—immediately brightened Elvis's mood. He scooped me up and spun me around. I threw my arms around his neck, laughing until my sides hurt. He kept spinning until I was practically dizzy. When he finally set me down, I was still catching my breath, and my cheeks were completely flushed. Elvis swallowed hard as he watched me. "Sweetie, let's have the nanny watch the baby tonight. I think we should turn in early. I promise I'll make it worth your while."

Dane leads the way to the two over-plumped cream sofas in our TV lounge and heads to put the glasses on the center oak coffee table. In here, it’s comfy and peaceful and not that big a room, and as he swoops to turn on a channel, I know it’s in case anyone comes home and wonders why we are in here together. It’s not like we often hang out to watch a show together, if ever. He sets it to medium volume, just enough to cover our voices should we fail to hear anyone return, like Monique or my mom. And can confidently say this is all easily explainable should a surprise parent walk in.

he growled playfully, his face flushing slightly as he tried to match the rhythm of the violins. Suddenly, a small body slammed directly into Noah’s legs. Nico had escaped his nannies again. He ran right onto the dance floor and stomped his tiny, dirty leather shoes directly onto the top of Noah’s expensive black dress shoes. "I want to dance too!" Nico shouted, grabbing Noah’s trousers. The nearby pack elders and Alphas burst into warm, genuine laughter at the sight. Noah stopped moving, staring down at his feet with an expression of pure defeat. He looked up at me, his eyes full of a helpless love that made my soul ache with happiness.

It was both. Snow exhaled, shifting to a more serious tone. “This drama’s total investment is over 100 million. No A-list stars. Noah’s style is always the same—he prefers fresh faces, rookies with potential. So most of that budget goes straight into production quality. I checked—the post-production team is Midnight Starlight. You know, the ones who made every drama they touched a hit. If they’re involved, this show’s practically guaranteed to blow up.” She glanced at Adriana. “Anyone who makes a name in this project? That’s basically one foot on the stage of the National Drama Festival.”

Nico said. He was not totally convinced, but he knew it was dangerous to argue with the man before now. “However, Marena doesn’t wear servants’ dresses,” Nero said. “She makes a sport of refusing.” Nico’s brown snapped together. “What?” Nero shut him a look, then turned back to the screen. “When we used to—” Nico cleared his throat uncomfortably. “I think I get it, Don,” he added quickly. He was not about to listen to the disgusting details.

one of the ladies said. “How could I miss it?” the other replied with a scoff. “That whole drama was embarrassing.” Their voices were low, but the words still drifted to Lucien’s ears. “I still can’t believe that wheelchair girl,” the first one said. “She really had guts,” she added with a small chuckle. Lucien’s brows knit slightly at the mention of a wheelchair girl. He didn’t move, but his attention sharpened. “I heard she’s the female lead for the drama,” the other said, clearly displeased.

she smiled while waving her hands through the crowds, her eyes roaming through like she was searching for someone who had to be found. Nico finally walked in , while she sat by lex who kept asking if she was okay . “ I'm okay lex , I promise “ , she smiled while pointing towards the stage and asking who that was . “ It's Nora , the sponsor of the program” . Nico's jaw dropped , her mouth agape while lex stared at her. What was Nora doing at the party? How did she join the Dark Moon pack?
