It was almost 7am in the morning and me, my brother, Mason, my mum and Dad, were having breakfast at the table. We were all having cereals, or better put, we all had a bowl of cereal in front of us but only my Mum managed to eat though her mouth kept running. “The Moon Night is always dangerous, you have to have someone with you, there are many girls your age you should move with.”

I say and my parents drop their forks. "A parallel universe?" Mom asks. "How did he get here then?" Dad asks. "Well, my invention brought him here by accident. I call it the Inter-Universal Teleportation Machine 1.0. It transports objects and people," I explain, holding Travis, "from one universe to another. It's amazing isn't it?" "It is." Dad agrees. "The name's lame," Aimee comments with a deadpan tone. "You can call it the ITM-1, it's more catchy."

"It's… it's just one note. But it's perfect." He opened his eyes and looked at Sela and Arin. "It's the universe's first note. It hasn't learned any others yet." As they watched, the single note echoed through the silence. And where it passed, reality flickered. A patch of the grey rock would, for a second, become a field of strange, blue grass. The empty air would shimmer with the ghost of a floating, jellyfish-like creature. A mountain range would appear in the distance, sharp and glorious, only to vanish back into the flat grey plain when the note faded.

This note was from an anonymous sender, and it read thus; “Dear Luna, kindly look deeper. They do not seek an harvest or development of your earth, rather, they seek an harvest of your soul.” As I read the note, I could feel an instant shiver run down my spine.
