Raven would go out for a few hours, then return only to drown herself in liquor. "Zelena Martinez is back, Caddel is back, Yoel is back. You know who else will be back?" Raven suddenly asked, drawing his attention to her. "Excuse me? They are back and I had no idea?" He asked in horror, the rate of his heartbeat tripling. Raven cast a conceding look at him. "You stay in New Jersey but you know practically nothing. Sometimes I wonder what you're good at other than taking care of your vampires."

I open my eyes and rise, pulling on some of Raphael’s clothes, defeating the whole purpose of secrecy, since his scent clings to me now. When I reach my room and push the door open, a harsh croak greets me. A raven stands on my bed, black feathers scattered across the sheets, droppings marking the place where it has lingered too long. Its eyes fix on me, unblinking, as if it has been waiting. “What the hell!?” I’m about to shoo it away, but then I notice that it carries something in its mouth. A note. Meet me in the tower—Grimm.

She shakes her head standing up. "I will check the offices and such. She might need a break Emmett, she was struggling watching you three." "What's happened?" Grayson looks at us. "Raven is missing." He laughs at my words. "It's not funny Grayson, she came out, sat down, went to the toilet and is gone. Fucking check if you think I'm paranoid!" I watch him walk to the toilets, does he really think I am that blind? He walks out shaking his head, stopping he looks down. I watch as he leans down and picks something up before walking back over.

~Night in the North~ The band of the night anti-supernatural creatures were all set out all on standby against the time the enemy steps forth unaware of their secret formation and intentions. “You don’t have to hide it. I can see through your smile. You have been smiling all day, laughing with the other guests, but I could tell that something is wrong.” Raven’s eyes widened. “Is it that obvious?” She asked worriedly so she touched her cheeks with the back of her hand. She thought her acting was good. Did the people she was talking to also noticed what Sebastian had noticed? “Just obvious enough for me to notice. I think the others did not notice it.”

The color seemed unnatural, as though it carried meaning beyond what the eyes could see. “She’s different,” I whispered. Raven looked at me knowingly. “Yes. And that difference might be what made her a target.” I stared at her for a moment, trying to make sense of everything. The room suddenly felt colder, quieter. I could hear the faint crackle of the burning herbs and the slow rhythm of Nora’s breathing. Raven placed a gentle hand on my arm. “You should rest too, Alpha. You’ve been on your feet all day. I’ll keep watch and let you know if anything changes.”

I nearly laughed at that, reminding myself to mind my business. Silence spread through for a minute longer. “Raven has changed a lot since being here. Can you tell me if there was anything you noticed, as little as it could be that would give us a clue of what she is and what she can do?” Conri asked and I wanted to just shutter the plate before me. “We did not see anything. She had no power, she grew very slow and just useless. The only things that were different about her were the color of her blood, her speed.” Alpha Greyhemm said completely oblivious to his choice of words or maybe he wasn’t.

Because that’s what Guardians do. Raven studies the spellbook in front of her, but I can tell she isn’t really reading anymore. Her eyes keep drifting, unfocused. A soft glow flickers beneath her skin, faint, like moonlight under water. Mom notices immediately. “Noah...she’s having a vision.”

But my head suddenly bumped into something. As I held my forehead, I saw that the man standing in front of me was Raven. He was wearing a different balaclava than before, with a small embroidered silver “R” on it. Raven was dressed more casually, in a black hoodie. “Shall we go together?” He offered calmly.
