I reached into my desk drawer for a lighter. I flicked the lid open and closed, watching the flame dance in the light. As I stared into the fire, the walls in my mind suddenly broke, pulling me back to a memory from my past. Flashback The night air was freezing and biting, but I didn't feel the cold as I stood in the dark, abandoned street. My eighteen-year-old heart raced with a thrilling euphoria as I watched the beautiful destruction in front of me. A car was engulfed in flames, the fire consuming the doors and shattering the windows with cracks. I didn’t want to call the police or run away. The heat felt like magic against my skin, filling me with a twisted sense of power.

~FLASHBACK AUTHOR'S POV Her mind was in deep slumber, like she was floating in air. Everything felt light. Slowly, her eyes started to flutter open and she ended up closing them again, when the light blinded her. Her head was hurting badly so she raised her hand and rubbed at her temples with a groan leaving her lips. What happened? She wondered, when memories started to flash in front of her eyes once again. Lucas kissed her, she went to her penthouse and Hardin was there. He did something.

The rain was dense, which made everything go white in front of her eyes, and she didn't even know which direction to go. Jessica sighed helplessly. She couldn't imagine that even God was helping Flora, and it really put her through the wringer. She must get back at Flora by herself! Jessica tightened the thin shirt on her body and took out the raincoat from her emergency backpack to quickly put it on. She shook her flashlight and tried to identify the road ahead. But the rain was getting heavier and heavier, and the strong light from the flashlight was reflected by the raindrops, which made everything in front of her a blur and she couldn't see anything.

She looked at me, then at Enzo, then back at the towel. “I’m serious , when am I getting paid . " I thought for a moment and then recalled the incident. I had been walking in the park when I came across an elderly woman looking distressed. I stayed with her, helping her search for her family and even calling the police. Her family came to pick her up, thanking me profusely, but I had brushed it off as a small act of kindness. Rafael smiled as he pulled me into an embrace. "That day, I knew you were a special and kind-hearted girl. I promised myself that if I ever had the chance, I would get to know you."
