How could Austin come up with the term? Unfortunately, those boring books were my fun. I love reading stories as it felt like pulling me into a new world. Because of that, I often found it refreshing after finishing a book, even though sometimes I would be devastated by their tragedy. And this novel, I hoped, could be a refreshment, although I doubted it. I had read the blurb and it seemed a complipated story. I enjoyed my own company, reading the novel while having a hot tea. It was such a perfect combination. It could warm me up, body and soul.

Before I could even think of closing my mouth the correction poured out of me. “Perfect,” I corrected. His eyebrows flew up at me as if asking me a question. His face was a mixture of curiosity, and annoyance. “The quote. I like my version better,” he said. “You like your version even though your version is wrong?” I said, giving him a mocking smile, "That sounds like something a typical man would say."

“Only if you read it out loud.” I raised a brow. “Really?” “Yeah,” he said, pulling me closer. “I like your voice. And I like the way your mouth moves when you’re focused.” I rolled my eyes, but my cheeks heated anyway. I reached over, grabbed the worn novel, and settled back on his chest. He rested one hand on my thigh and the other behind his head, looking completely at peace. I flipped to the first page and started reading. It was a story where a girl leaving a town that no longer felt like home, finding herself in unfamiliar places, learning how to build something new from all the pieces that used to hurt.

Now, however, it was back to reality and I wasn't sure I could take it. "So are we clear about what's happening here?" she asked abruptly. I nodded. I felt like I was being scolded by some private school nun. "You know," she said, "I learned something a long time ago. It's a quote from a book I read while in college." She walked over to the bookshelf set deep in the ornamental wood behind her desk. "I still read it, one of my favorites." She shuffled for a moment before pulling out a leather bound book worn from handling, seemingly ancient. "It's not very popular, but an excellent read, especially when I come across someone like you." She flipped through some pages, sat back down and looked

I had been successful every time at getting out of it. "Reading is good for you! It's so much fun too," he insisted as he picked a book from a shelf and took a seat beside me. "You just want me to become a nerd like you," I mumbled against the pillow. Now that I was lying on the bed, I grew more tired. It felt like the bed had sucked in all my energy and now, I didn't even feel like moving a finger. "With freedom, books, flowers, and the moon, who could not be happy?" he quoted someone and I flailed my arm until I successfully smacked him. "Ouch! Fine! No quotes!"
