The loft was huge, the furniture sleek, the ambiance modern, all of which appealed to her. Unable to resist, Saskia let the lure of luxury lead her into the soft covers of the bed. She was still wearing her travel clothes, but she didn't care. Being surrounded by safety for the first time in weeks was a lullaby to her anxious brain. She fell asleep almost instantly and slept heavily until something woke her up.

After dinner, the penthouse loosens. Music hums softly from unseen speakers. Sofia’s mum disappears into the kitchen with the housekeeper, animated and laughing. Sofia perches on the edge of the counter, scrolling through her phone and launching into a familiar rant about her ex. Layla’s feet ache. She slips out of her heels without thinking, sighing softly as the cool marble soothes the sting. She takes two barefoot steps. Then- “Shoes.” The word cuts cleanly through the room.

Vernon said and got up from the table. "Miss Bae, could you come with me?" Sofia rose slowly and followed Vernon. entering his office, Sofia laid down on the black leather sofa that was there.  "Your office is too big, I want one like this." Sofia joked. "We'll arrange it." Vernon laughed and sat down putting her head on his lap. "hmmm i'm so sleepy" "Why? didn't you sleep well last night?" Vernon asked playfully. he felt the happiest man in the world just remembering what had happened the night before.
