Immediately the door was jammed close, Rielle placed her hand on the wall and released the breath she held in. Alex is truly scary when he threatens and now, she couldn't help but think about her life which was now in the hands of Alex, the king of darkness. He had been busy arranging the publication process since the two of them met in Elgerson to discuss matters. First was the early promotion stage. After 12 years of silence, the mystery novelist, Mindy Harrison returned with a new suspense thriller following her hit novels, "Murder Weapon" and "The Deserted School". The selling point was there, but… the response wasn't great. Firstly, Mindy had been disconnected from the thriller novel industry for many years. I willingly shot myself in the foot when I not only tried to run away from him but also kept a secret—a secret that would ultimately push him to reach for the gun in his nightstand drawer and finish me off. But I’m not thinking about that when he is occupied looking at me with those intense, dark eyes of his, like he knows something I don’t. It’s both thrilling and terrifying, because if there’s even a teeny chance he can read my thoughts, I’m in deep trouble. No matter how many excuses I come up with to convince myself that what I did was the right thing. At least, in that moment, it was.

Damn it, this wasn't an action movie. I growled at something very rude, fasted my M19 harder, and sprinted down the sidewalk on this side of the street. I never let our prey out of my sight for a moment. It was almost like a slalom. Again and again I had to avoid people and then I almost ran into a shelter. There was room for a handful of people in these small buildings. If you had to get to safety from a prole, you could run in there, seal the room and call the venators from inside via an emergency column.
