I'm suddenly too aware of how fast and hard my heart is beating against my chest and it squeezes, in pain, obviously.
Green eyes— so familiar and so dark, so mysteriously dangerous and knee weakening, as he continues to stare down at me, his gaze unmoving on anything else, only focused on me, only on me and for a long second, as we stare at one another, slowly processing and taking each other in, I have the burst within, something that tells me that maybe. . . just maybe, everything will be okay.

Everything can work out, like before but better.
