I pulled back and looked at him. He was worried, I could see it in his eyes, in the tight set of his jaw.
Worried about me, about my silence, about the shock that wouldn't let go. I opened my mouth and tried again to speak.
"I..." I started, my voice coming out as barely a whisper.
Julian sat up slightly, hope flickering across his face.
"I'm here," he encouraged. "Take your time."
"I can't stop seeing it," I finally managed to say, my voice rough and broken. "Every time I close my eyes, I see him coming at me."
