Almost. Determination growing, I begin to move forward, but just like the last time the woman’s gaze comes to meet mine, I find myself being sucked into a void that I can’t escape. When I’m finally released, I find myself standing on a stage with the man from my previous vision. Keeping my expression neutral, I tear my gaze from the man and then let it fall on the hundred or so people that stand in a square, watching and waiting for who I now realize is their leader to speak.

"What's going on in that head of yours? It's my big day. You don't get to skip out on the toast." I jolted back to reality, forcing a perfunctory smile as I prepared to lift my glass. Just then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw the grand doors of the ballroom swing open. A slender, graceful figure stepped into the light. The darkness that had clouded my eyes for two days vanished instantly. But in the next second, the smile froze on my face. Jocelyn walked in, her arm linked affectionately with another man's. Without even setting down my glass, I carved a path through the crowd directly toward her.

"I know where he goes, plus I know when he is alone. I can also tell you for free that I know what is between him and us." He leaned forward slightly. "But I cannot do it without people I trust. And you are the only people in this room I have any reason to trust." Before any of us could answer, the lights above the hall flickered once. Then a screen on the far wall lit up with a single line of text. “Game Two Begins In Two Hours.” And directly beneath it, four photographs. Sarah! Garrett! Alvin! Tom! And a message underneath all four faces that made my blood go completely cold.

My eyes wide as I stare at the two of them. From Asher to Archer and from Archer to Asher. And then it hits me. What the actual fuck?! -

In the video, Connor and Julie were walking into the room together. Upon seeing this, Julie lifted her chin toward me with a look of pride. Yet, in under a minute, Connor opened the door and emerged from the room. There was a hunched man in a black hat waiting outside, and as soon as the man walked into the room, Connor left. Julie's legs gave out after watching the video. She crumpled to the floor, stammering, "T-That can't be right! I was with Connor that night!" I stared down at her. "You saw it yourself, didn't you? Connor did go into the room, but he left in less than a minute. Who exactly is your unborn child's father, then?"

The second part was coming and like I was made to understand ,that was actually the hardest part. So, the goal was to remain focused as I waited. Cheers and applause tore through the air after the first round, and, against my better judgement, I swerved my head to a certain direction, where Sabrina was at. Unlike before, when our eyes locked for the first time, I as Theus, there was some light in her eyes as she looked at me, this time. And with my wolf's eyes, I tried to read her words, following her lips movements... " Congratulations!" That's what I was able to see.

I stepped forward. Slowly. Like if I moved too quickly… it would vanish. The applause rose again. Louder. Stronger. Warmer. I didn’t look at the audience at first. I couldn’t. Because the moment I did… It would become real. But when I finally lifted my gaze… I saw them. Mrs. Hawthorne… Smiling. Not just proud… Certain. Like she had known this all along. And Grayson… He wasn’t clapping. Not yet.

“Please let me go. I promise I won't let anyone know what I saw. To me, you don't even exist. If you scared I would tell others of your existent, please I won't” She was laughing. She circled me and was making an enchantment. I looked ahead and noticed a table in the middle of the stage. When did the table come to be there? I was perspiring. Everything appeared surreal. Even Nora was nowhere to be found. I thought she said she would join us after her shift? How I'm I site she won't turn against me just like her brother?

“This is the direction we’re taking.” The lights dimmed and the screen lit up, a collage filling every inch of it, and I sat up, intrigued by the bold splash of color. The bold heading first caught my eyes: The Act of Being Kim. And I couldn’t even lie, a slow thrill curled in my chest. However, my skin pricked as I felt eyes on me, and not one to shy away from attention, I welcomed it; however, there was something in that gaze that was uncertain. Like some of them doubted if I could pull it off.

Her solid intense stares were like knives slowly dragging along my skin, it wasn't making my nausea any better. I took a deep breath and did my best to get lost in my character once more. I mentally repeated that she wasn't here and she was locked away someplace far from here. No matter how many times I repeated this statement to myself, I knew she was still here. I heaved a sigh of relief when curtains dropped for intermission after act three. The hustle and bustle was simply a background noise as I paced to and fro backstage with hopes of getting rid of nerves and nausea.
