The Nun's Lustful Desire
The moment I can, I excuse myself to my room and lock the bathroom door behind me.
The water runs hot, filling the bathroom with steam. For a few minutes, I pretend I’m just a girl home for the weekend with nothing to worry about. I think of the girls I saw in Bucharest—short skirts, oversized hoodies, laughing loudly and holding hands with boys their parents would never approve of.
They wear what they want. They fall in love, marry, have children, and live without anyone judging whether they’re holy enough. They simply enjoy their youth. And right now, I’m jealous of them.
