Sasha sat in the secret office of the Vegas Casino, her black mask concealing her face. Her fingers drummed lightly on the polished wooden table, a display of calm confidence as she waited for the Russians to arrive. Ivy stood beside her, holding a folder with the legal documents that would seal the deal. Sasha had built this meeting meticulously, and now, as she felt the weight of her role as Nyx, the leader in the shadows, she was determined to expand her influence.

The creature limped out from behind one of the cages, favoring its left front leg. Kael's breath caught. He knew this wolf. The intelligence reports had mentioned it: *Subject keeps a companion animal, origin unknown. Small black wolf, unusually intelligent. Dispose of it with the girl.* Lyra stirred in his arms, her eyes opening. "Nyx," she breathed. "Don't... don't hurt her. Please." The small wolf—Nyx—limped closer, her silver eyes fixed on Lyra with obvious concern. When she reached them, she sat and looked up at Kael with an expression that was far too knowing for a simple animal.

“I don’t want to wait either, but I am really hungry, can you forgive me, Baby?” He asked while giving me a pout. He looked so adorable and I couldn’t bring it to myself to not forgive him. Nakoa was purring in our mind and showing me images of what could happen after we ate. I heard Jax laugh when my stomach let out a loud growl indicating that I was really hungry as well. Jax moved away and smacked my behind before he left the bathroom to get dressed. I walked out as he slid the pajama bottoms off leaving him naked. I let out an involuntary made a guttural sound in the back of my throat from Nakoa. He called it clicketing and told me that this noise was usually made when it was mating seas

The valley house had a way of feeling like the safest place on earth, even when everything beyond it was falling apart. I sat on the porch steps—Aiden—watching Aria out in the yard. Sixteen now. Tall and fierce like her mother, silver-gold hair tied back messily from training. Her arms were stretched wide, eyes closed, face tight with focus as she tried to pull just a little wind. Gentle. A month ago, I received a report that someone was kidnapping and killing wolves. Some of the wolves that were killed were mercs that I had done business within the past, of which I am not proud of, and a report says they are being killed by some sort of assassin known as the Nix. I can't determine if this " NYX" man is good or bad, but I have been trying to capture him since then to see why he is on a killing spree. It's forbidden to kill wolves the way this NYX person is

I respond by pushing harder, drawing on Nyx’s natural speed and agility to close the gap between us. After a week of maps and meetings, the pure physical joy of running makes both Nyx and me feel alive in a way nothing else can.

Xander shielded me, flanked by Alex and Sean. The car that came to a halt seemed familiar, as did its scent. The door swung open, revealing Nyx, who appeared bewildered. “Nyx?” Xander asked. “What are you doing here?” “I...” Nyx began, her voice faltering. Her body tensed as she emitted a low growl, her nostrils flaring as she scented the air. Everyone became uneasy as her eyes darted left and right. She strode towards the car, her eyes landing on the grim scene before her. Tears welled up in her eyes as she beheld the devastation.

They run through the forest until they reach a clearing, circling each other playfully. Your name? Nyra sends. Ajax. His mental voice is a deep growl. You’re beautiful, mate. Nyra bares her teeth in a wolfish smirk. I know. She snaps at his heel, and soon they’re rolling in the dirt. I roll my eyes inside our shared mind. Oh, goddess… It stops being funny the moment Ajax pins Nyra down and she starts panting like a wolf in heat.

So, I told them everything about touching Osiris's injured shoulder and seeing his battle with Jace. When I finally finished, a deafening hush filled the room. Nomad leaned back, his brows slowly furrowing. “It's almost like… you can hear echoes.” His eyes lifted toward me. “Like echoes of pain.” A happy squeal rang inside my head. Nyx practically wagged her entire body. “I like this Alpha! He guessed it right!” I was confused. “You mean…” Nyx proudly puffed out her chest. “I am an Echo Wolf.” She smiled brightly.
