Thus, the thousand-year war began. Gods against Gods. You would think that with Zeus, Selene and Helios as one, they would win easily. But that wasn’t the case. Absalom enlisted the help of Hades, who happily went against his brother Zeus. Hades unleashed monstrous beasts upon us. He also had Enyo, the Goddess of destruction, at his side. And, of course, Nyx, if the world was eternal night, she would be all powerful. Why wouldn’t she help him?” Again, she pauses.

Lucien said evenly. She met his eyes. “I do.” “Then tell us.” For several long moments, she remained silent. It was not hesitation but reluctance, as though speaking the truth would bring consequences she desperately wished to avoid. “My name is Nyx.” The name echoed through the courtyard. Several nobles frowned in confusion, but others visibly paled. One elderly scholar covered his mouth with both hands. “Nyx…” he breathed. “That name appears in the First Scriptures.” A murmur spread through the crowd.

A sudden chill ran through me at the thought. The mother of wolves? The goddess of the moon. She was the one we always prayed to. The one I had prayed to several times while I was still at the pack. Maybe she had heard and sent Beros to save me. I was eager to know more about her. I turned back to continue my reading. "And lastly, Nyxar, the god of chaos and destruction, the push and pull of the world" This last name didn't leave me with a good feeling. Was this deity responsible for all the chaos?

But none of that mattered if I could not reach Aether. The dragon tilted his head a slow smile spreading across his face as he stepped closer. “I am Nyx. Elyra’s first born and Draven’s forgotten blood brother. Your son carries pieces of all of us now thanks to that fertile human womb of yours. Hand him over willingly and I may let you keep those soft thighs wrapped around me as reward.”

"Who exactly is Nyxar, Orion?" Orion's voice dropped to a barely audible whisper against the wind. "He was not an enemy king. He was not a rival Alpha. He was not even a wolf." He turned his gaze slowly toward the dark eastern horizon. "Nyxar... was the very first being in existence to reject the light of the Moon Goddess." A sudden, violent crash of thunder erupted directly overhead, making the ground shake. The Moon Tree's beautiful silver light flickered dangerously, dimming for a fraction of a second.

Nyx pulled away, her chest heaving, her eyes wide with desire and regret. "I can't do this," she gasped, her voice a delicate mixture of longing and determination. Nyx took steps backward, her conflicting emotions flickering in her eyes. Summoning all her strength, she mustered the courage to speak her mind. "Atlas," she whispered, her voice trembling with sadness and caution. "I fear that when it's morning, you may regret this moment, this vulnerability between us."

“From the sounds we heard all over the castle, it didn’t seem like you weren’t enjoying yourself.” Normally, I’d panic when a stranger entered my room. But today? I can’t bring myself to care. If she’s here to kill me, I welcome it. “How tiresome,” she huffs when I don’t respond. The bed dips behind me. And the meaning of “namesake” finally filters through the cotton in my brain. Nyx. Izak growls, his one eye glaring at me. "This is Adria, my Goddess, and mate king, we are both here to help with the darkness you spoke to king Flint about," Nyx states firmly, eyeing the goblin. Izak frowns and continues to eye me and I can see him getting a hard-on, yuck. "She needs to offer her flesh, you know the rules, Elderon," Izak smirks, licking his lips. "No, we will leave and you can deal with the darkness by yourself Izak," Nyx growls angrily, pulling my hand and turning away from the goblin.
