The warriors howled, long and fierce in agreement. But I didn't hear them. All I heard was the echo of Regina's heartbeat. It was far away, the fear in his heart, trapped in a monster's camp.

His wife who was panicking at the beginning, shouted. Antonio closed the scroll and called the guards in to the room. Together with the queen , the king was taken to his Chambers. There , a medicine man came to treat him. “What is wrong with my husband?” The queen asked with tears rolling down cheeks. If anything happens to her husband then the kingdom would lose everything to the emperor and his cruel son. “He had a heart failure” The physician answered, pouring the Herb’s water in to the jar, he was holding. “What?” A voice asked from door A woman in her early twenties walked in to the room. She had a crown in her hand.

And as soon as he steps out of the room, he latched the door. And was just taking four steps down from the upstairs when he noticed Birdie. Jade blurted out before she could stop herself. Jin seemed surprised for a moment, but then, burst out in laughter. He winked at Jade and whispered, “Old enough.” Embarrassed, Jade tried to find something to distract herself. And to avoid looking at Jin. “What do you think?” Jin said, breaking the silence. Jacob’s POV I stood near the old oak and watched the pack work through their grief and exhaustion. The morning light revealed the full damage from the battle. Burned tents still smoked in places. Warriors carried the last of the dead toward the mourning fire with quiet respect. Others tended to the wounded with bandages and herbs. Everyone moved slowly, but they kept moving. The old oak now carried Lunara’s lingering ward. A soft protective aura surrounded the central area and gave us a small sense of safety amid the ruins.

“Kael… if you go, Ashwood collapses. The packs collapse. Everything you’ve bled for collapses. And Rhea will follow you into the grave.” Kael’s breathing tightened. Fenrak placed a hand on his shoulder. “Let me do this for you.” Violet stepped into the room behind them, her eyes red. “It’s time,” she whispered. --- The trek to the Ancient Oak was silent. Only the crackling of torches followed them as warriors marched through the forest. The ground trembled with something old, something waking beneath the soil. The Ancient Oak towered over them — massive, twisted, its roots half in the real world and half fading into swirling mist. The bark pulsed faintly like a beating heart.

I took two warriors with me, leaving the rest to ensure our Pack members did not unintentionally get into any trouble. As we approach the Oak Point Pack, I can see how they got their name. The Oaks surrounding their territory are stunning. And their forests are rich with lots of running paths I can already see. I would love the time to get a run in before the Mates Gala, but I doubted that would happen.
