Ethan put his arm around Laura's shoulder, and again the feeling of family overtook her. The movie started, and Laura was instantly transported to a world she could only imagine. The ocean came to life on the screen, and she watched, enjoying herself. “I love that color,” she whispered as the ocean took over the screen. All the shades of aquamarine and blue filled the screen as the character sailed on the water toward her goal. “Yeah?” he asked, cuddling her in closer to him. She nodded. “You live in California. You get to see the ocean all the time. Which is better? Ocean or mountains?”

It's all done quickly and quietly and then the gate creaks open, revealing a long private road ahead. We drive onto a bridge that stretches over the glittering ocean. I can't help but press my face closer to the window, watching as the water sparkles under the sun, hypnotic and impossibly blue. The wind moves in soft gusts across the surface making it look like liquid glass. I've never seen anything like it in real life. Only in movies. Rich people movies.

ARIA’S POV The ocean is a vast, unforgiving expanse, stretching endlessly in every direction. The waves rise and fall like living things, their power evident as they surge around me, threatening to pull me under with each crest. My heart pounds in my chest, my limbs burning with exhaustion as I fight to stay afloat, to keep my head above water. Panic claws at my throat, but I force it down, knowing that giving in to fear now will mean certain death.

A new voice echoed through the facility. OMEGA PROTOCOL ACTIVATED Far beneath the ocean floor… Something enormous began to wake up.

He switched off the lights and heard growls and whimpering. "We are under attack, Alpha," Victoria linked him, and Rex was on alert. "How many?" He asked Victoria. "Six rogues, Beta breeds," Victoria linked him while her wolf, Olive, fought the attackers. They pounced on her immediately, and Olive fought for a way out. One wolf bit into Olive's side, and another knocked her down. Olive did not stay down and got up and charged. Just then, Rex came from behind Olive, hitting the wolves about to pounce on her.

“You’re laughing at me, but you just laid down too.” His laughter deepened, rich and easy, blending with the soft rustle of leaves above us. The evening sky stretched endlessly over our heads, painted in soft shades of orange and purple as the sun slowly disappeared behind the towering trees, everything felt peaceful. “So,” River said after a beat of silence, turning his head slightly toward me, “how are you feeling about all this?” A smile spread across my lips as I stared up at the darkening sky. “Well… I believe my body is getting better,” I admitted honestly. “I don’t feel like a weak omega anymore.”

The ride to the SilverMoon was pure torture, every bump in the road jarring my nerves until my palms were covered with sweat. The car screeched to a halt, and the wolves grew silent. From the shadows outside, a pair of glowing eyes stared straight at me.

Ariana came into view, her eyes glowing like the sun, she’s always been his predator. “I hate you, you son of an ape” Richard’s mind went blank, first he could feel the pain inside his abdomen, and his bones he could feel them, coming together. But his emotions, they were disruptive, set in a town where foster parents were like Gods in a person’s life there was literally no one you could run your mouth to.

I finally healed, and made myself comfortable in one of the single seated sofa, as Alpha Dane let out a deep sigh. “I would like to know more about the mate perhaps.” Alpha Dane said in response. “Well,” Robert started, “As you can see, the moon goddess decides that we bond with a packless omega, which actually makes her part of our pack— she was actually being merciful on the hopeless “thing” that she had forgotten that I and my brothers deserved mercy as well. But as a matter of fact, we are one big happy family, aren't we Natasha?” Robert asked, fixing his eyes on me.

A sharp kick to my face sent me sprawling backward. My eyes burned as sand and dirt scraped against them. I gasped, my hand flew straight to my bleeding nose. “Who is your Luna?” Cynthia sneered. “I am no Luna to a useless omega.” I trembled, my body screaming in exhaustion. “Please, ma… I didn’t do anything. I am just a lowly omega.” She squatted and yanked my hair up with her fingers, dragging it so hard I felt my scalp pulling out, “An Omega that's mated to my man, my husband!” she hissed in anger before pushing my head back, “You're not innocent Omega, Daphne. Like I said earlier, I have heard about you!”
