Four police left the cars and joined him in a quick conference, then they all headed back toward me and Zane in their dark blue uniforms. “Sir, I’m Sergeant Horrace,” a beta said, then gave the names of the other officers, which I confess I instantly forgot. It was hard to tell man from woman in all that shiny regalia. I wondered if some of the spit-and-polish I was seeing weren’t for Zane’s benefit. “I understand you’re detecting a hollow scent?” “Yes, Sergeant,” Zane said, then explained what he had told me, minus the tone in his voice that had made me a little weak in the knees. I really needed to stop zoning in on him so deeply.

Several police officers walked in and flashed their badges. "Which one of you is William Lewis? We've received a report of large-scale tax evasion by your company. You'll need to come with us." William paled instantly. He whipped around and glared at me. "Was it you who reported me, Suzanna?" I smoothed my hair casually and smiled. "Don't break the law if you don't want to get caught, Mr. Lewis. You were the one who said the finance director helped you dodge three million in taxes during the annual dinner.

The dogs barked; he shushed them and told them to go lie down on their giant dog beds in the corner. Holly couldn’t help smiling now. When she’d been stuck in that ditch, the snow falling all around her, she hadn’t expected that anyone would be driving by, let alone a man like Officer Matthew Haldon. Tall, with dark hair, he wasn’t what she’d classify as handsome, per se, but his face was kind, and he’d taken her into his home without protest. She hadn’t known a lot of people who would be that kind to a stranger. A small voice had whispered that she was crazy to go to a strange man’s house, but he was a police officer, right? And looking at him, she felt like she could trust him.

“Well, at least there’s Kathy and now Parker to help.” “True. Don’t forget you’re there too.” “Right. Okay, let’s go home. I think we have lots of planning to do.” It took them a while to get everything cleared away and the staff organized. In the end Heath gave his statement with Ivy to a police officer at the zoo. The officer's knowledge of Heath's identity annoyed him, as he had to provide personal details. But the officer understood the problem as he’d encountered other high-profile situations like this. They didn’t want to drag them down to the station. The officer felt it may cause an incident with the paparazzi’s friends and colleagues. Who they feared might show up at the precinct to

I have two reasons for calling. First, I want to surrender for the assault. Second, I want to file a complaint against Violet for sexually harassing my husband. I am currently in the office of the CEO of the Maddox Group. Alright, I will secure the scene and wait for you to arrive." Violet didn't expect that Zoey would actually call the police, "You think it's justified to hit someone?" Zoey snorted coldly, "I will make you know what it means to self-immolate!" At that time, Violet still didn't know what her f

But now, the police were saying something entirely different! "No... This can't be!" Zachary was frantic. "We're not impostors! Sasha truly is a Chriss!" "Sir, did someone make a deal with you?" "Yes! Zuko Hamerton and—" "Oh, I remember now." The officer raised an eyebrow and sneered. "Mr. Hamerton and Ms. Thompson sent me to convey a message to you. It's a simple message..." Zachary's mind went blank. The officer leaned in close to his ear, speaking harshly. "All's fair in war!"
