Her finger lifted slowly, pointing directly at Noah’s body, her dark eyes intensely glinting like sharp blades under the overhead light. “This,” she said clearly, her voice fully dripping with cold mockery, “is the mate everyone fears and warns against?” She tilted her head slightly, her lips instantly curling into a cruel smirk. “This fragile kid? This small, fragile little thing? I truly can’t believe I was actually worried about him. It genuinely wouldn’t even violently take me a single second to easily kill him now.”

I shake another step, more worried than annoyed. But her body seems to break under my touch, and she crashes to the ground. “I didn’t,” she repeats, louder this time, shaking her head harder. “I didn’t.”
