Melanie stared at her "what is it?" The doctor took a deep sigh "I am sorry ma'am but we lost him." Melanie's eyes grew wide. "I am really sorry ma'am" the doctor said again. Melanie fainted at the spot.

Melanie sneered and I switched my glare to her. “Watch your mouth, Melanie!” “You watch your mouth!” Madam Helen growled, waving her fingers at me. “How could you do this? I thought you would let it go, but you’re so bent on destroying me, aren’t you?” Caleb muttered and I looked at him. “What are you talking about?” I muttered, filled with confusion. “He’s talking about this,” Melanie said, and Francis showed me the video playing out on his phone. My jaws dropped open as I stared at the video I recorded at the hospital.

Sarah didn't respond, but to Melanie, the silence that followed after spoke louder than any words she would have dared to say. A look of disbelief flashed across Melanie's face, her pacing came to a stop and she let out a cold laugh. “Money? You're asking for money when you've done nothing? Tell me this, why did you stand like a stupid lifeless doll back there? Don't you have a mouth? Couldn't you have spoken up, defended me? But that bitch in her fucking place?!” She snapped, stomping her foot over and over on the floor. “Are you that fucking useless?!”

"Your mom and I are getting old, Kyle, and we can't control you anymore. But Wayne's business is not yours to decide. Wayne, do you truly need Kyle and Lucy involved in decisions about your wife?" Lucy scoffed. "Melanie can think for herself, Michael. She doesn't need you meddling."

Vivian noticed Melanie and took the chance to humiliate her. "Eddie! Melanie really has no sense. She gave up someone as promising as you just to go for some lowlife! She never worked on herself at all. Now she's been dumped. It serves her right!" She deliberately raised her voice so that everyone in the room could hear. Melanie went deathly pale. Not saying a single word, she picked up her white handbag and stormed out of the room.

"Not exactly famous, sweet pea. But I own a business that a lot of people know about. That's why they were interested to see me.Now come on, let’s get your bags and go!" A sly smile formed on Melanie's lips as she contemplated her next moves. Each person who wronged her was in for a shock. Oh how she couldn’t wait.

Then he looked straight into my eyes and spoke each word with terrifying clarity, "This wasn't some business deal. I only accepted her terms because I needed to ensure they would never lay a hand on you ever again. "My shares, the Bradley Group, the South City project." His voice shook with restrained rage. "They can have it all. But they cannot have you." The words echoed down the corridor, filled with grievance, anger, and something so fierce it nearly shattered me. I froze completely. After a long period of hollow silence, the sudden, violent thumping of my heart returned. Nearby, a look of pure distaste twisted Vivian's features. "Caden! Have you lost your mind? For a woman like her—"
