Taranis said as we stepped out of the car, “next time, we’re choosing the movie. Something with no ghosts, no jump scares. Something calm.”
I laughed. “Like a documentary on paint drying?”
“Exactly,” he said, looping his arm through mine.
I glanced up at Taranis, his eyes shining in the dim parking lot light, and realized that some of the scariest moments made the best memories—especially when shared with him.
