: Stranded with the Stranger The wind howled like a wild animal outside the small wooden cabin. Snow came down so thick it felt like the whole mountain wanted to bury us alive. I stood by the tiny window, pressing my face close to the cold glass, trying to see anything beyond the white blur. Nothing. Just endless white and the angry roar of the storm.

I've experienced mental blocks and severe headaches several times while going on with the story, but it was all worth it knowing that finally, One In A Million reached its ending. This is my first ever Science Fiction story, and the second novel I finished this year, 2021. I know you see plot holes in it, the grammatical, and typographical errors, and I promise to strive harder to get rid of those and be better in the future. I know I still have to learn a lot and I am more than willing to learn.

--- I didn’t call. Didn’t text. Didn’t post. The silence itself became seductive. It made room for doubt. It made space for need. Every second I didn’t reply, I could feel his hunger growing. By nightfall, I posted a single story. Nothing explicit. Just the stem of a champagne glass between my fingers… resting on a man’s thigh in a navy suit. My nails red. His hand on mine. No tags. No caption. Just a picture that told a thousand lies.

"You just started explaining and already you're gone!" I ran my fingers through my rain-soaked hair. "I'm completely ruined!" I cried out in despair. Unlike the protagonists in the stories I'd consumed, I possessed no superpowers, no magical abilities to turn the tide. "This is so unfair!" My brooding was interrupted by a luxury car gliding past the bus stop. Through its open window, I witnessed Nadira and Julian engaged in a heated kiss—their lips locked together passionately, her hand around his neck as his hand pulled her closer. She turned slightly, and her triumphant gaze found mine, rubbing salt into my wounds with her expression of victory.

His face is even more puzzled. If you’re wondering how casual currently we are, even though we ended last night on an awkward note, well… I explained it. Usually, in stories, they just skip to the next day/ chapter as if nothing happened, but NO. IT’S NOT LIKE THAT AT ALL. How I wish it was. I have to thoroughly explain EVERYTHING. Even the finger-partner part. Good heavens, they don’t know about that! Why? IT’S BECAUSE THEY DON’T DO IT! I can’t believe it. They go straight to the point; no foreplay! What a sad world this is…

Right when the vampire was a few feet away from Uea, a sense of realization flashed through his mind, and he gasped in horror. "Isn't this Cassian? The vampire in my story 'Exclusively His'? The short story collection I finished a few days ago?" Uea's mind overworked, trying to make sense of what was going on. He'd already found everything familiar to begin with, and after confirming his situation, another realization dawned on him, shaking him to the core. Uea glanced at his chained body, and his lips trembled when he realized he wasn't in his own body, but the body of the main character of his short story.

Then every light in the cabin went out. Complete darkness swallowed us. The only sound was the storm and our heavy breathing. Jax’s lips brushed my ear, his voice low and dangerous in the pitch black. “This is just night one. I’m keeping you here as long as I want.”

I went home with a problematic heart to explain, one side fluttering, one side it hurts, tightness. It feels squeezed. Who knows how long all these feelings will end soon. There must be a time when?
