NICO’S POV~ From above I watched the crowd disperse, men of equal power all scattered in different directions. I'm Nico for a reason, even though I am also a danger to myself. The smoke bomb ignited as soon as the entire room was filled with laughing gas and they all laughed. I saw Kenji cover his nose before he dived into the crowd and out of the room. With the rope I swung down, running after him, when I got outside cars were hurrying to leave, but I recognised some useful faces I would use to exact my revenge.

shouted Luca, who had anticipated their arrival. Robin and the others were still in the lowland forest, but Luca's voice could be heard from higher up. Robin hides behind a large tree that perfectly covers his body, with Antonio beside him. “Be cautious, Antonio!” Robin whispered, “The snipers must be up there.” Antonio nodded. He was surprised by Robin's attitude. The others had begun to move, but Robin appeared reluctant to leave his hiding place. Robin never showed any doubts. However, right now, he desperately wants to obey his wife's suggestions.

Rob was always the best one with explosives amongst my men, he always regarded them as his babies. "Look at him grinning like a fucking psychopath" Jamie says from beside me in the car. "It's what he does best, what do you expect" Nico was calling him but Rob seems not to be hearing him. "The Truck is already on the way, idiot. Do you plan to get blown alongside it?" Nico screamed at him but Rob only gave him a middle finger. "I swear if you get blown up, I'll hook up with your girlfriend" Nico threatened and that got Rob's attention. He gave Nico a murderous look.

Anyone saved by a manipulative woman like Jasmine would pray that she had never come to save them. Nico's call woke me up from my spiraling thoughts. "Hey, are you getting so comfortable in your cozy bed that you've forgotten about your career?" Of course not. I tidied up and headed to the rendezvous place Nico gave me. Nico was on a hill, bending forward and looking at a crimson stone. He saw me and lifted the stone excitedly before brandishing it with expectant eyes.

"I'm a weapon." "Exactly." Nico reached into his pocket. He pulled out the ruby necklace. "Turn around," he commanded. I turned. He fastened the heavy gold and ruby piece around my neck. The cold stone settled in the hollow of my throat. "Tonight," Nico said, his hands lingering on my shoulders, "Caleb will try to separate us, he will try to get you alone, that is his move." "And what is my move?" "You let him," Nico replied. My eyes widened. "What?"

Vincent got to dance with my mate, while I stood on the sidelines watching like a fool. “Now that—” Nico began appreciatively from where he remained sitting and swirling his glass of wine, “—is a luna if I ever saw one. Good thinking Diablo. You’re going to need her for what’s to come. With a woman like that, you could rule the world.” I looked at Nico, surprised by his statement.

Nico groaned as his connection with the pack snapped. “GO! Your rogue team is waiting for you outside. I already gave them all the possible locations of the white witch. They already know what to do. Start running now before my warriors start hunting you down. Oh, and Nico, you only get five rogue warriors,” he taunted with a wicked smirk grazing his lips. “RUN.” [End of flashback] “Fuck!”

Pity flows through me for him, he has no idea what’s in store for him later. I’m almost hidden by one of the large stone pillars and from here I watch the room. Nico is by Damians side, he looks like one of the angels from the renaissance and I am most certain that he was used as inspiration for the great Italian masters. His face looks serious as he listens to whatever Damian is saying, there is a bright eyed adoring fledgling hanging from Damian’s arm looking at him like he is a god. Foolish girl. Nico’s eyes keep roaming the room and I know he is looking for me but I can not make myself move in their direction.

“I can’t believe I even asked you to make muffins today of all days.” Nico gave me a small, tired smile. “It’s fine. Today is your last day here anyway. It’s only fair you got to taste them at least one more time.” I smiled back and nodded, then turned my attention carefully to the bruise on his lip, dabbing it gently with ointment. He winced slightly but didn’t pull away. “So tell me,” I said after a moment. “Is he an alpha?” Nico nodded once. “Oh.” I exhaled softly. “No wonder.”

As much as I wanted to ask the exact same thing, I couldn't do without opposing him. “ You guys worry for nothing. They taste equally as good, ” Ryan assured with a smile. “ It better,” Nico said, remaining the picky eater that he is. “ You're one shameless bum, aren't you?” Miro folded his arms. “ And you're one unbothered friend,” He was quick with a comeback. “ You're the one who invited me over, so why do I have to do anything? Shouldn't you be the one serving me?” Nico was intentionally provoking Miro. It was a habit of his to provoke everyone.
