One Way Romance

For 14 years after graduating from school Lynd disappeared and her whereabouts were unknown, the reason behind it all remained a mystery. Joan accidentally reunites with Lynd, who is his first love. 10 years ago he told Lynd he was getting married and proposed to a girl who became his girlfriend when they were still college students. Joan expressed his hidden feelings that Joan's dream type has always been Lynd and wants to get a wife like her if possible. That statement is always stored in Lynd's heart until when they meet again it makes her heart waver when Joan invites her to have a secret relationship with him behind his pregnant wife. Lucas, her son, manages to get himself into a relationship with Tilda and it is even weirder than his mother's own as the love triangle which he finds himself in happens to have his newly found buddy in it.

What inspired you to write One Promise? You see, when I was young, life was tough. I grew up with a broken family. I never felt the love I wanted all my life. I've always love reading. That's when I found my new comfort through writing. Then I held on to it because it gave me hope. It gave me another way to ease my broken self cause I needed to. Just when I thought I already hit rock bottom with all these pain I felt ever since I was a kid, God must've still felt the need to push me more by leaving me with a monstrous dad but I saw how God changes him. So I wrote this story for my dad.

My daughter’s kindergarten held a family event, and I rushed there, only to see her holding hands with my wife’s male secretary. “Daddy,” she said, “I wish our family could stay like this forever.” I watched as the three of them hugged, radiant with happiness. Suddenly, exhaustion washed over me. Later, I filed for divorce. Then I left to teach in rural villages for thirty years. If I couldn’t light the lamp in my own home, I’d at least illuminate the path for others.
