One Way Romance

What inspired you to write One Promise? You see, when I was young, life was tough. I grew up with a broken family. I never felt the love I wanted all my life. I've always love reading. That's when I found my new comfort through writing. Then I held on to it because it gave me hope. It gave me another way to ease my broken self cause I needed to. Just when I thought I already hit rock bottom with all these pain I felt ever since I was a kid, God must've still felt the need to push me more by leaving me with a monstrous dad but I saw how God changes him. So I wrote this story for my dad.

Evelyn Ithaca, a single mother, moves with her son back to her hometown in the hope of things getting better for them. She, being a powerful witch, has ‘supposedly' been saving her son's life as he seems to have a terrible sickness only her magic can keep at bay. Things got a little weird for Evelyn when she began to develop feelings for Damon, a young handsome werewolf whom she has eight years on. Their relationship starts up swiftly and is repeatedly interrupted by no one else but her ex, who happens to be the Principal at her son's school...and apparently more. Lucas, her son, manages to get himself into a relationship with Tilda and it is even weirder than his mother's own as the love triangle which he finds himself in happens to have his newly found buddy in it.

My daughter’s kindergarten held a family event, and I rushed there, only to see her holding hands with my wife’s male secretary. “Daddy,” she said, “I wish our family could stay like this forever.” I watched as the three of them hugged, radiant with happiness. Suddenly, exhaustion washed over me. Later, I filed for divorce. Then I left to teach in rural villages for thirty years. If I couldn’t light the lamp in my own home, I’d at least illuminate the path for others.

The evidence isn't clear. Who would profit from their deaths? Is Vera implicated? Must Millie fear for her life?
