I was grateful to the goddess for blessing me with such a strong wolf. Judy watched me as I shifted and it felt kind of embarrassing until I saw she was doing the same. Her wolf was a light blonde, just like her hair, and lithe. She looked almost acrobatic and very stunning. Her eyes were icy blue just like Atlas’s. Once I had fully shifted I wondered what I looked like and made my way over to the river by the field. Judy joined me at my side and I gazed at my reflection.

I looked up only to see Wolfe. He stepped in, holding something out toward me. “Here,” he said. “I think this fell from your bag.” I frowned slightly, glancing down. My heart skipped as I stared at the small, colorful bandage of Paw Patrol in his hand. Paw Patrol was Creed’s favorite and most of his belongings, if not all, have the character ingrained on it. My fingers closed around it quickly, almost instinctively. “Oh,” I said, forcing a small smile. “Thank you.”

Then frowned. “Wait.” Ayana looked over. “What?” Kacie pointed. “Is that one of Walt’s rocks?” Walt looked offended. “Minerals.” “Whatever.” Ayana laughed. Kacie looked between them. “How the hell did y’all even end up together?” Walt shrugged. “I won her over with my rock collection.” “You absolutely did not,” Ayana said. “You said they were cool.” “I said one was cool.” “You asked me about six of them.” “Because you wouldn’t shut the fuck up.”

The anticipation of a fight I’d been craving for years. “Defeating Orion should be an easy task,” I said with a confidence that wasn’t for show. “He’s strong, yes, but I’ve broken stronger.” Cole’s brow furrowed. “Don’t underestimate him, Alpha. Rumor is, he’s got a witch assisting him.” I gave a deep, rumbling chuckle. “And? You think that scares me? Orion’s not the only one with a witch by his side.” Cole’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he didn’t press the subject.

“Prepared for what, exactly?” A hush falls through the room as the dancers come to an abrupt stop. Orion turns with me in his arms as heavy, steady footsteps sound, echoing through the room. Overhead, moonlight streams through the glass ceiling, highlighting the ghastly, scarred faces of Cole’s trapped court… and Cole, himself. He’s dressed in all black–an insanely well-fitted tuxedo. His dark blond hair is swept back away from his face–longer than it used to be, when we first met. His eyes are stern and cold as his gaze sweeps the room.

JR’s eyes darkened with hunger. “Beautiful,” JR muttered, almost to himself. He shrugged off his own shirt, revealing miles of tattooed muscle and the powerful build that made him a nightmare on the ice. “Bedroom. Now.” Soren let himself be guided down the hall, JR’s hand burning at the small of his back. The bedroom was massive, dominated by a king-sized bed with black sheets. JR pushed him down onto it, crawling over him with predatory grace.

Cole glanced at Brett who at first sight seem to be in friendly stance with him but Cole knew Brett was restraining him physically. “Fine.” Cole grumbled and Brett tapped his shoulders. “That’s more like it.” Brett added a grin. “Where is your mate?” Myra mother asked and Cole took great pleasure in burying his elbow in Brett’s stomach before he walked forward. “Hello Ma’am.” Cole greeted as he stretched out his hand for a handshake. “Cole, King of shifters.” “Marionette. Queen of Ubbis.” She replied as she shook his hands. “I go by Nette though.”

He had no inkling that a new Alpha had taken over the territory. And Brandon intended to take over much more than just the ice delivery. Ever the silent guardian, Brandon grabbed a fresh glass and poured chilled water over the ice cubes. He kicked off his shoes as he approached the bed, coming up behind Lyon with a single ice cube held between his fingers. "Mm. Thank you," Lyon purred, still staring at the city lights as Brandon reached around him to offer the glass.
