The city was a maze of neon and rain-slick streets, nothing like the quiet valley Aiden had grown up in. He walked the alley slowly, heart pounding harder than any fight. The pull of a mate bond pressed on him like gravity—strong, unavoidable. Nyx stood near the back door of a corner café, gray eyes stormy and wild, dark hair plastered to her face by rain. She was beautiful, broken, a dangerous power hidden deep, years of fear and suppression etched into every movement.

Caspian scoffed "if you aren't both blind, you could have seen that the door is not shut!" Alpha Onyx was very ashamed, he made sure not to raise up his head, so as his rage would not reflexed. Xylan almost tear up, he just indirectly insulted his father and herself. Xylan had to glanced at Alpha Onyx when she felt some heat radiating out of his body. It was as though he was boiling but was holding himself back from exploding. I could feel the swell of hunger for gossip, for righteous anger at some guilty hand. Storme stood still in the middle of the chaos, then slowly, she turned her head toward me and gave me that small, cold smile. It should have made me wince. Instead, I felt a thrill run beneath my skin. She looked so unconcerned. She was either a fool, or the most dangerous type of calm I’d seen. That smile burned my insides. Marcellus slammed his hand on the armrest of his throne. “Silence!” The room quieted almost immediately.

He would relocate an entire continent’s worth of livestock for a view as exquisite as that. AUTHOR'S POV Heavy June rain hammered against the corrugated iron roof of the underground bar, drowning out the low thumping bass. Yvonne crossed her arms over her expensive trench coat, shivering as the damp, stifling humidity clung to her skin. The subterranean tavern smelled of wet dog, stale beer, and raw ozone from the thunderstorm raging across the city. Sitting across the sticky wooden booth, a man with a jagged scar down his neck lazily counted the stacks of crisp hundred-dollar bills. Securing her position as Luna meant cutting out Chandler’s obsession at the root, and this human mercenary was the only blade sharp enough to do it.

“I had a hunch and I metal-scanned Tequila and she did the same to me. It was in her wrist Bry. Her fucking wrist!” “Woah!” His orbs widened. “We need to get it removed quickly and really carefully.” “We already got rid of it Bry. But Deimon's calming presence, a constant reminder of their bond, held him back. Frustration mounted within Onyx. He couldn't act on his primal urges. So, with a defeated sigh (well, as close to a sigh as a wolfdog could manage), he slunk back inside, seeking solace in his bed. There, he discovered a half-empty bottle of spilled beer – a casualty of Deimon's emotional turmoil. Onyx, ever resourceful, decided to drown his own frustrations in the same way. Lapping up the spilled beer, he indulged in a very un-wolfdog-like activity – getting drunk.

Janina had said that their goddess had always been very respectful of other gods and their creations, so it was important for witches to follow in her example even though not everyone did. Storm was a gorgeous woman. She had an olive complexion with chestnut colored hair that hung on her shoulders. Her almond-shaped eyes were copper with specks of green throughout them. They were framed by thick lashes and were absolutely beautiful. She was a little bit taller than me and had a slim figure, probably underweight because of her prisoner status. However, that did not distract from her beauty.

Even then she looked very beautiful - like an Angel dying. For thirty years, I had conquered kingdoms. For thirty years, I had been Alpha Orion, the Tyrant - feared by all who dared cross my path. I had crushed enemies beneath my heel, had torn rival alphas limb from limb with my bare hands. Alpha Orion - My name alone made the bravest warriors tremble.
