She held up a grin, blood dripping from her mouth. "Let's do this…" I gulped down the last drops of blood from the bottle, sending her instructions with my eyes. The humans had all run into their homes, giving us a proper sight of the mountains. As we closed the gap between us and the mountain, I couldn't believe my eyes. Long silver rods stood at opposite ends, flames burning between them. A black seal held the silver bars in place, stopping it from opening. "Sire, we have to hurry; the inscriptions in the clouds have begun to fade." Sabrina let out. She was trying her best not to give up having only strength and agility alone.

I order, pinning each of them with a firm gaze. " The security team has been scouring the camera feed to find any clue and we've been searching every nook and cranny of Blackbird for clues," Andreas reports. I am waiting for him to give me feedback on their investigation. "We noticed a loop in the timestamp and we're currently tracing where the breach came from. As for the clues, some of Erebus's men came in as guests and the weapons were smuggled through the tunnels." He concludes. The Blackbird has a network of tunnels underneath it which are shortcuts to the different floors. Also when there's an emergency, the elite members of the security team make us of the tunnels.

My muscles were coiled springs. The plan was a house of cards. Lyra’s information had to be perfect. The vampire strike team had to take the exact trail I predicted. Our run to intercept had to be flawless. Minutes ticked by. An hour. The tension on the bridge was a live wire. In the center of the circle burned a brazier filled with black flame. “Cultists,” Zevran muttered. Kaelira nodded slowly. “The Order of the Eclipse. I thought they were gone.” “Apparently they didn’t get the message.” Before they could move, one of the figures turned toward them. Beneath the hood, the eyes glowed red—Moonlight twisted wrong. “Children of the Black Moon,” the voice hissed. “You sealed what was ours.” Zevran drew his blade. “Not sealed enough, apparently.”

"You finally returned to the perimeter. I have the vintage cooling. I’m waiting for you." Before she could respond, Kai’s channel overrode the frequency. "Little beauty," he laughed, a feral, low-frequency sound. "The uncle is already losing his patience. Come down here and satisfy it." Ava didn't answer. She reached out and flipped the stealth-mode toggle. The Black Hawk vanished from their radar, a ghost in the machine. The plan was a surgical strike: Sebastian would lead a team of Black Rose commandos to infiltrate the Black Snake and extract Summer. Meanwhile, Ava would descend alone onto the deck of the destroyer, serving as the ultimate distraction for Landon.

His voice when he spoke was calm and controlled. “Sarah Williams.” The way he said her name felt deliberate, almost respectful. “You finally see that your son is alive.” Sarah leaned closer to the screen, her voice shaking despite her effort to remain strong. “What do you want?” she demanded. The man tilted his head slightly. “We represent The Black Dagger Front.” The name hit the room like thunder. James stiffened beside her. He had already heard intelligence officials mention that group earlier. A violent insurgent faction known for kidnappings, weapons trafficking, and covert political operations.

It took me a second to get used to the darkness, but soon, I was able to make out their outline. Ravens! Occupying every inch of darkness, the black birds sat there. Leaning forward in anticipation... Waiting! “Bon appétit!” the shadow grinned--- and the forest became alive with hundreds--- no, thousands of them! Spilling out of the treeline like a living storm, they tore the skies open as they emerged from the shadows. Their wings beat the air into a frenzy, the sound deafening as they swirled above. They descended like a black wave, their wails so loud it shook the forest with their force. The two men screamed, their shots firing wildly into the dark as talons and beaks ripped at them.

Ravi said again, gently running his fingers through Raymond's already disheveled hair. If Raymond hadn't come to help him then, Ravi wouldn't know what his condition would have been like, or he might have even died from the excruciating pain. Ravi's hand trailed over the soft feathers on Raymond's folded wings, instantly causing Raymond to close his eyes. "Why do you have black wings among the others?" Ravi grew curious, his hand unable to stop stroking Raymond's increasingly soft and gentle wings against his skin, the soothing scent of chocolate beginning to envelop him, enticing Ravi to close his eyes and follow what Raymond was doing.

The only thing that mattered was getting in, getting them out, and getting out alive. He turned his attention back to the rest of the team. "No mistakes. Move fast. No hesitation." With one last nod, the team dispersed, gathering their gear and preparing for the operation. Damien took a deep breath, his mind sharpening. This was the moment he had been waiting for, and nothing would stand in his way. --- The night was their cover. It always had been. The darkness wrapped around them like a shroud as they moved toward the Blackwood estate. The estate loomed in the distance, a dark silhouette against the moonlit sky, its windows like dead eyes watching over them.
