"Thank you, Emmett. I promise I'm only here to help." "I trust you," the Alpha says. "And, Evelyn – you should know that my son was in love with Dr. Nicole Hardy, though he never said so aloud. The commanders didn't look surprised as they all already knew who and what I was. The new commanders all walked forward till they stood in front of me. Instinctively, she lashed out. "...You just stood there and watched me panic? Watched me suffer? Jared! You're my son!" By now, however, Jared had calmed down. And finally, he understood. I didn't hesitate to praise my son for speaking the truth. Then I turned to the officer standing nearby.

Deborah said, dragging her gaze from the screen to stare at her son. Then she rested her palm on his cheek and said, "You are your father's oldest child, and now that he and your uncles are dead, fortunately, NewEra is yours to rule along with all of his wealth. Don't make me regret it. Become a son that I will be proud of, understand?"
