Exploring 'Assassin's Creed Origins' feels like digging through a treasure trove of hidden nods and inside jokes. One of my favorites is the 'Bayek’s Medjay Badge' – a subtle reference to the 'Firefly' series where Nathan Fillion’s character wears a similar badge. The devs clearly had fun with this one! Then there’s the 'Chocobo Camel' in the desert, a hilarious crossover from 'Final Fantasy XV' that caught me off guard. It’s such a random but delightful inclusion. Another deep cut is the 'Star Wars' reference in the tomb near Yamu, where you can find a skeleton in a position eerily similar to Luke Skywalker in the wampa cave. The attention to detail is insane.
Beyond pop culture, there are historical easter eggs too. The 'Pyramid of Giza' hides a secret chamber with a modern-day laptop and coffee mug, teasing the Animus glitches. And let’s not forget the 'Isu Armor' quest, which feels like a love letter to longtime fans with its cryptic messages. The game’s world is so dense that even after 100 hours, I’m still stumbling upon little surprises. It’s like the developers left breadcrumbs for us to find, and each discovery feels like a personal win.
