Everyone watched in silence. Orion gestured toward the vision. "Everything we know began with a story." The stars drifted slowly above them. "The Heart's story." The silver sphere brightened faintly. "The Sovereigns' story." The First Queen lowered her gaze. "The world's story." The vision continued unfolding. Creation. Life. Civilizations. History. Everything they had ever known. Then Orion raised a finger. The memory stopped. Frozen. "That story has one problem." Silence. The forgotten Sovereign looked upward.

Orion’s grip around her waist tightened. “I see why you are tired,” he muttered into her hair. She almost laughed. If she let go for a瞬, if she allowed herself to view this as a story she was being told, it was almost absurd. Wolves. Gods. Demon fathers. Ancient locks. Fanatic clans. All orbiting a shard of crystallized moonlight set in a grove she used to be forbidden from entering.
