Her eyes found two black cars parked adjacent her block, and she hugged herself without thinking. Her legs crumpled and her throat went dry. Silas stood next to the first car, as still as the goddamn trees. His face was moonlit, expressionless and unfocused on her. He was looking almost waxy. His silence didn't scare her. It was the fact that he probably hadn’t spoken a single word since that night. To her, his eyes looked intact, but the thought of Rapha having truly cut out his tongue haunted her more than it should have.

He was so close I could feel his breath over my face. My heart stopped beating as I waited to see what he would do. You could hear every single night animal by how quiet it was. “Fuck” he swore. I heard his retreating footsteps and then the door closed behind him. My eyes flew open and my heart was beating crazily in my chest. What was that?

The minutes crawled by. I fought to stay awake, lost in a haze of exhaustion and fear. The monster was still crouched over me. Realizing I wouldn't be easily tricked, it stopped humming and just watched me, its rotten eyes roaming over my face. Then its gaze shifted to Sophie, lying beside me. "Sophie, Mommy has a Christmas present for you," it said in my mother's sweet voice. "Open your eyes and see." Sophie whispered, "Mommy?"

His eyes darkened. Slowly... Almost mechanically... He lifted his head. His gaze locked onto mine. I couldn't breathe. He didn't blink. Didn't move. Didn't speak. The silence between us became suffocating. Then... Very quietly... Almost as if he couldn't believe the words himself... He asked, "...You're Serafina?"

Before I could scream, his eyes snapped open. A deep, glowing gold. My lips parted, but no sound came out. His gaze locked on mine, watching me intensely. Then, his lips moved. Letting out the most dreaded, unexpected word ever. “Mate.”

Until I let myself drown into the depths of darkness. Hours passed when an ear-shattering silence dominated. Until I heard a beautiful and soft voice, it was like calling me and telling me to open my eyes, “Wake up. It’s time, Hyno Drelan.” I opened my two keen-black eyes. Because of how long it took before I opened my eyes, my vision was still a bit blurry.

Liora’s P.O.V. My world tilted sideways. “What?” The words struck me like a dagger. My mind went blank completely, unable to process the lethal blow that was hurled on me. I opened my mouth, struggling to speak, but all that came out was a strangled whisper. “No… that’s… impossible!” The hall had gone deathly silent. All eyes turned towards us, but I barely noticed anyone except Scarlett. Her face was pale, her lips trembling as she pressed her hand over her belly.

Silence crashes around us. Because if a being beyond existence is afraid Then whatever just woke up is beyond even it Far out in the endless void Two enormous eyes open And reality itself begins to shake.

And since then, it’s been two hours i guess and he haven’t moved a bit yet. He’s not sleeping, I know. He’s just being still, letting the silence fill the gaps we left. I was ogling at his calm face and the way his chest went up and down while breathing when he opened his eyes abruptly catching me jerking at him. Before he could utter anything that would embrace me I spoke up “ you okay ?” His eyes intentionally stayed on me for few second before he moved his brown orbs around the room and got back to me. “ I feel so, “ he whispered with a blank face.

“Then end it…” The silence that followed was suffocating. His eyes held mine for a long moment.. But he didn’t speak. Didn’t move. And neither did I.
