A soft buzz lit up the black screen of his phone on the bed. He picked it up with one hand while his left lazily moved the towel over his damp hair. The lock screen showed a small preview: a waving bunny. His brows knitted in genuine confusion. Who would send him a cartoon animal at this hour? He tapped the notification. The username: CherryBunny. Clicking her profile was instinct, but the moment the screen loaded, his hand froze. The towel slipped from his damp hair, landing forgotten on his shoulder. He simply stared, the air leaving his lungs in a silent rush.

Tight enough that it felt like he was trying to talk me into playing along with the act as well. And I did. To be honest, I was weirdly enjoying the kiss when Lira suddenly cleared her throat, making us break apart instantly and awkwardly. "Luna, I came to remind you of your first day in the office today as the Luna," she said softly, her voice carrying a strange elegance. I nodded, finally letting my eyes land on her. “It has to be, so when the Luna is in heat and being attended to by her divine mates, they have to technically hide her from the pack while they carry out their duty to the pack, being her most vulnerable and her main isn’t around to do it.” Sabrina paused, watching Riley's stunned face, “We’ll come check it out properly in two days, as we need to get back for lunch, start the first survey and get to the pack house library. We need those maps now.”

Pressed her face into my chest. Lydia smiled. It didn't reach her eyes. "Hello, Liyana. I'm Lydia. I'm here to talk to your mommy." Liyana didn't look at her. "I like your rabbit " Lydia said. "Does he have a name?" Liyana mumbled something into my shirt. "Bunny " I said. "Her name is Bunny." "Bunny." Lydia wrote something on her clipboard. "Liyana do you know why I'm here?" Liyana shook her head without lifting it.

She still looked and sounded a little glum. As Manik walked to his car, he searched for that cartoon and forwarded it to Nandini. Back in her hospital room, Nandini picked up her phone to see what he'd sent. It was a link of a video along with a message. "Did you know bunnies can also throw temper tantrums?" Nandini clicked the link. Sure enough, it was a video of a cute and very small sized pet rabbit stomping its back feet when being told off by its owner. She smiled before texting him back.

“White silk with gold embroidery — Mother said it’ll symbolize renewal. Just imagine how Dylan will look at you when you walk in.” Lila giggled softly. “I can already picture it. The entire pack will bow.” I smiled faintly, though part of me still wasn’t used to being called Luna. The title carried weight expectation, authority but also eyes. So many eyes. Watching. Judging. Waiting for me to falter. As we turned the corner near the laundry courtyard, laughter caught my attention sharp, mocking laughter that didn’t belong in a moment of joy. We slowed.
