The space between us was barely there, but I felt it.
His eyes were darker now, his breathing uneven, his knuckles still brushing my skin. I knew exactly what would happen if I asked for more and God, I wanted to.
But instead, he straightened, running a hand through his hair like he needed the distance to think straight.
“Tomorrow,” he said finally, voice rough.
It wasn’t a question. It was a promise.
And I realized I wasn’t going to sleep tonight not with that hanging in the air between us.
