The madness of life

The madness of life

" Sunny said. "People like me are called Outcasts." People like me don't need anything, because everything is meaningless – to fight for the future, and to defend the present, and to preserve the past. Because there is something that is stronger and more powerful than all of us, that makes each of us fight for our lives, " said the Combinator, still looking through the crack in the hut at the horizon of the acid sea. "What is it?" Sunny asked with a warm heart, wanting to know the truth.

I explain, and Chloe smiles. "Outcast is an awesome place. Please take my word for it. They aren't disorganized. Wolves are housed according to their reason for being there. For example, older wolves who are widowed or wolfless live together. Rejected wolves live together. Wolves waiting to meet the soulmate housed together. Once you leave, you will be housed with other wolves our age searching for their mate. There are get-togethers...My point is don't stress. Outcast works. You will find her if she is there," Chloe says, and my stomach unknots a tiny bit.

Good read! I see that there was planning to have a sequel, any updates on that? One comment (a year ago) you said probably a couple months. Another comment (10 months ago) you said a few months. Would really love for this story to continue with the side characters! :)

Revenge of the Abused Luna

Revenge of the Abused Luna

He might even go as far as ostracizing us from the pack. What would become of my family and me if we lose our jobs and shelter and we are ostracized from the pack? We would become outcasts and destitute and start wandering around the city in despair. I know we can go to other rival packs but the big question is, will they accept us? They might probably do but if they don't, what will become of me and my family? I thought as I shuddered in trepidation.

Luna’s Human Second Chance Mate

Luna’s Human Second Chance Mate

My mind replayed the look on Santiago's face, but even that soon faded away to the back of a dark mind. I made my way into the dark wood, my mind swayed by the music of the evening. My stomach clenched again and once more I thought of escaping, but where? The more I thought about escaping into the void with my dark secrets, the more it became clearer to me that I couldn’t survive on my own, at least not without a pack. In a way, being an outcast was an unthinkable fate on its part, running away from Santiago would leave me with nowhere to live, no means of support, and then there was always the fear of being discovered.

BETWEEN AN ALPHA AND THE OUTCAST

BETWEEN AN ALPHA AND THE OUTCAST

No matter how intriguing the pretty asset is. "I'm only here to help," I offer simply. "I hope so," Max says, and there's a hint of a threat in his voice. ANNA This diner is a rundown way station for truckers and other less discerning travelers to fill their bellies without worry of judgment. It belongs to the men and women of the road, a restaurant at the edge of the world, living in the margin, outside society’s reach. So why do I feel so comfortable here?I guess I’m becoming one of their kind, fallen through the cracks into a demimonde of misfits, alike only in their distaste of the norm.

Mistaken Surrogate for the Lycan Prince

Mistaken Surrogate for the Lycan Prince

Now they were trying to make a life for themselves and their children in the margins of society, with no pack protection, no security, and constant fear of discrimination. It broke my heart to hear their story. Rogues were often painted as good-for-nothing vagrants, especially in the Werewolf kingdom. My father had drilled the idea into me that rogues were dangerous and untrustworthy ever since I was a child. But truthfully, they were just… people. People who had been cast out into the world with no support and no allies, simply because they had fallen in love. As they prepared to leave with the standard allotment of supplies, I made a quick decision. While Isaac was distracted helping anoth

I continued to listen. "Believe what you want about me, but Shelter isn't about me. Creating a system to manage people outside of packs from exiles, runaways, all the way to actual rogues is about creating a fairer, more open society. A safer society in some ways. A more accountable one.” Victor scoffed, shaking his head. “Safe? Accountable? You mean to tell me you think these wolves—these rogues—are capable of contributing to a better society?”

Alpha's Betrayal, Luna's Revenge

Alpha's Betrayal, Luna's Revenge

I asked him. “Too many,” he sadly told me. Which was shocking to hear. Even sane rogues tend to form a small pack for protection. But they will always be rogues unless they prove themselves and an Alpha takes them in. I guess, no matter the species, there will always be outcasts. It also made me appreciate Ellie a lot more. She didn’t care about my social status and offered me a home, a family. To Ellie, I was Sam.

Gravity

Gravity

I couldn’t contain my laughter and then she started laughing with me as I walked into the bathroom. “We shouldn’t be laughing, we’re outcasts now.” I’d been about to turn the water in the shower on when she said that. “It doesn’t matter, Adara. There is no pack in Seward. Everyone became outcasts tonight when I stopped Alexander from killing Malachi. We’re essentially a pack of outcasts.” “How does that even work?” “I’m not sure but maybe we won’t be outcasts for long.” I had no idea how I would rectify the situation we had found ourselves in, but I knew that I wouldn’t just sit back and do nothing.
