Bound by paper

His voice stopped me in my tracks. “I am prepared to compensate you for the arrangement.” I turned around, my hand on my hip. “Compensate? You think you can buy a wife?” “I think I can provide a fair exchange for your time.” He opened a leather folder on the table and slid a single sheet of paper toward me. I hesitated. Every instinct told me to walk away, but my curiosity was a traitor. I stepped forward and scanned the number at the bottom of the page. Then I scanned it again. My breath hitched in my chest.

Flower

Flower

"Here, take my hand. Even if you fall, I'll be there to help you stand back up again" His Flower's Point Of View The thick stench of blood was strong in the smoke filled air. My nose wrinkled as I inhaled the scent. My instincts had me gagging, maybe too loudly. Another scream echoed from not too far away and I squeezed my eyes shot, willing the horrifying sound of pain to disappear. A small sound of desperation escaped my parted lips and I froze in my position. That was loud. More loud than I thought it would be.

Night Of His Obsession

Night Of His Obsession

Curiosity piqued, and I gently retrieved it, my fingers trembling slightly as I unfolded the paper to reveal its contents. At first, my heart skipped a beat as I saw the name "Missy" written on the paper—the alias I'm using on this island. But as I read the words written on the paper, any thoughts of my past were swept away by the beauty of the poem before me. It was a heartfelt ode to white tulips, their delicate petals symbolizing purity and new beginnings.

Her Honour for an Heir

Her Honour for an Heir

Smiling as I remembered how my legs had given way under the caresses of his devious tongue I carelessly opened a small brown parcel. It was a book on flower identification. There was no note yet someone had circled a chapter on Petal Shape and Formation. Specifically the word Petal. My heart leapt as I raced to the section, hoping I had not finally lost my mind to lustful delirium in this space. The book almost fell to the floor in my haste to open it to the correct chapter. There, in that powerful handwriting, full of decisive cursive strokes as per his note to me in London there were a few words scribbled over the opening page of the Petal chapter.

This was much different from most other stories I’ve read, but it most certainly was no less. This was a phenomenal read from beginning to end, absolutely kept me on my toes & binge reading as quickly as I could. As always, absolutely amazing job author - a must read! :)

This was my first regency book. I loved it. The old fashioned setting is described very well. As a woman it makes me feel caged and unhappy. I was scared for Vanessa and cheered her on every step of the way. She’s strong but a strong that fits in the time.

Dance Of The Black Swan

Dance Of The Black Swan

I was about to close it when a small star shaped red flower caught my attention. The flower was attach on the small black paper. I'm not good in naming flowers and this is my first time seeing this kind of flower. I didn't saw anything like this in Mommy Adeline's garden. I narrowed my eyes before I slowly reach the paper. It was folded into two and base on the texture of the paper, it seems like it was not an ordinary paper that I used to see. I scanned my eyes around the locker room, I was all alone here. Although I'm doubting, I still dare to open it. Frown instantly reflected on my eyes when I saw what's written on it.

The Last Paper Star

The Last Paper Star

I only smiled until my eyes curved like crescents. Something seemed to block Mason's throat. He stepped back from the closet and accidentally bumped the bookshelf with his shoulder. Something fell from the top shelf and hit the floor with a slap. A dark-blue journal with a worn, fraying cover lay open on the floor. He bent to pick it up, but his gaze caught the first lines on the exposed page. "I came back from ten years in the future."

The Wrong Vow, My Perfect Match

The Wrong Vow, My Perfect Match

The Wrong Vow, My Perfect Match Chapter 120: What the First Page Said The sound of the unlocking click echoed far beyond the Threshold. It moved through the folding horizon. Through the silent Pillars. Through every layer of the dream. A single sound. A single permission. And then the first page turned. Nobody touched it. Nobody stood inside the room. Yet the page moved slowly on its own. As though an unseen hand had been waiting centuries for that moment. The projection sharpened.

The Lycan Prince’s Puppy

The Lycan Prince’s Puppy

Violet I was hunched over the floor with the paper in front of me, the pen shaking in my hand as I drew whatever I could remember of the unique rose. The others surrounded me so closely I could hear their breath. When I finished, we all got up and I flipped the paper around to show them. “Do any of you recognize this flower?

A year has already passed, and the book is still not finished. Although it is very well written (except for the chapters where the action drags), I have started to get bored. I keep waiting for “ the war that ends the world” but it never comes.

I used to wait for the chapters but now it is unnecessarily dragged on. Author builds up for climax so nicely but unfortunately it never comes which leaves reader frustrated and at some point gives up ( like me). Seems like lot of tease without any ending.

Saving Her Lycan

Saving Her Lycan

I need to know that Talon was wrong with what he told me. Carla steps forward with a sigh, she strides towards the flowerpot sitting on the table and lowers herself before it, hands caressing the flower plant that is now growing on it—It's a Queen of the night flower plant. I remember the plant too, it is the one she had brought on the day of Roman's attack. Now that I think of it, does it have a significant meaning?
